On Saturday afternoon I was determined to find a spot that was both unique and new to me. I found it scouting an area by the bay that I have never been before, behind a very beat-up abandoned house that looked as though it was once for sale by an extremely optimistic real estate agent.
We walked behind it down to the water. The house used to have a pier but it has long since fallen into pieces. That evening was hot and muggy and infested with mosquitos (and even woodchucks in the weeds behind us) but the sunset was beautiful. Watching the god beams and the tide come in, I waited for the lights of the industrial harbor to come on.
Dukes 777
I had four very different major photo ops on Saturday, starting just before 7am and ending just after 8pm, so it was hard to choose just one.
I decided to go with a photo from what I spent the most time doing on Saturday. I started in Huntington Beach, CA with a couple of woodie friends and cruised up the coast with them to Malibu for lunch with a lot more woodie owners at Duke's restaurant. This photo shows the overall location but only two of the 30 woodies in the parking lot.
This was taken at the All Chrysler Nationals at Carlisle, PA. Every year at the car show, the Mopar Mailing List (MML) gets together for a barbeque - we have over 100 members, family and friends show up, it's the social event of the summer This is Dave, one of our members, with his daughter Samantha. I'm not much of a "kid" person (don't have any myself) and not much into photos of children, but I've gotten to know Dave & his wife over the years, and Sam (just turned 2!) is a charming little girl - friendly & outgoing, you can't help but like her, and has learned all the important words like "Mopar" and "Hemi", makes her dad real proud!

At the local skatepark in Visalia, California
Why? Because we were there for my grandson's skateboard lesson (however, this is not my grandson, but one of his friends from school)~
Took the family to the museum on a nice Saturday morning. I'd never been, and my 2-year-old hadn't been for over a year; he got much more out of it this time. He also set off the alarm near the Bison "window."
We liked the T-Rex trying to munch on the Triceratops. Shot taken at 10:30 AM.

Outside of townhouse on the afternoon of 07/07/07. I was taking Mahala for a quick walk when I happened upon this egret. Hard to believe that there is an extremely busy road 100 feet behind the subject....

I forgot my tripod plate, so I did the best I could. It was amazingly busy there. I was in Canada to look at a new horse and we stopped at Niagara since I had never been. It was great!

yeah, I got back around midnight last night, after a whole series of "wake up at 5 am - go to bed after 11 pm" days.
I'll talk to mods about this as soon as my mind unwinds back from the Big Sky Country
Thank you for your patience, y'all!
