Look my very first post! What an incredible time I had. Yes, the location was great, the food was great (what they had left of it), our room was great (shh-hh), the critiques and photoshop help were great but for me the BEST part were all of you!! It was the smugmuggers that made the trip for me. I already miss all of you!!
Nik, you did such a great job with posting all of the people shots. I really don't have that much to add that would not be a repeat. But here are a few shots that are my favorites for various reasons.
Here is one for you Nik...
Fellow SmugMuggers...
Kate & DaveV being way to cute together...
I just really liked the two split directions of these
smugmuggers...
This is of Tony and April on our last sunrise...
Doesn't Nick look like he should be photographing
for National Geographic??? We might be saying
someday, "We knew him when..."
And April has one of the most beautiful smiles...
Take care all and can't wait to post more next year!!

Great images Sharon. I looked at them on your site because they are not showing up here. You need to turn on External Links in that gallery. I had a lot of fun shooting with you and Jack. I'm looking forward to seeing you again next year.
Ohh what fun!! I wish i lived there and joined in, wow. Awesome shots, nice to see all the faces of Dgriners. Thank you for sharing this amazing experience. clap
It was really nice to see you again Jack. I don't know what Sharon sees in ya but I'm glad she does , I had a great time shooting with the two of you. I'm looking forward to seeing Sharon's shots.
Yep, us too! We had a blast and anxiously await the '08 trip.
Pssst... I heard there may be an "eagle" fest in Mineysoda this Winter so keep your ears open for that too!

We were at Many Glaciers looking for bear, etc., and I left the car carrying just one body. I went to the back of the car to switch bodies and freaked out because I could not the second body. And I hit full panic mode when I went searching for my camera backpack. And it wasn't there!
It took me another minute to realize that I was looking in the back of the WRONG mini-van. :wow
TonyD was staring at me wonderng why was I going through the back of that specific mini-van. You caught his expression after I told him what I just did...
Who knew that a white minivan looked so similar to a brown one? I still maintain that the back trunk area of a mini-van look alike once the trunk is popped.
Great Shots...Looks like a good time was had by all!!
You're only as good as your next photo....
One day, I started writing, not knowing that I had chained myself for life to a noble but merciless master. When God hands you a gift, he also hands you a whip; and the whip is intended solely for self-flagellation...I'm here alone in my dark madness, all by myself with my deck of cards --- and, of course, the whip God gave me." VERY Cool Picture of Andy ...I have to say this....Andy you look awesome in a beard! Gives you a total different look...
and Schmoo.......I finally get to see her completely she is always hiding in her avatars...I have No idea why...:D
ALL the photos were great, glad to see everyone had a great time, and some of them gave me a good chuckle!!

It seems to me that you took images of this people who just take images for the sake of money rather than the art of photography !
Nice to know who would be this kind of people who look for the best scenes in order to convert it to $$.

Money? $$? What are you talking about?
Honestly confused...
I don't know about the others, but I for one am really liking these photos because it allows me to put a face with the name (maybe that is not so true for the above shot, but for most anyway). Thanks guys
Is that really what the background looked like? Holy Schmoly, I don't remember it having that much depth! Cool
Nevermind, I just realized that this is when we crossed it going TOWARDS the lake. That's a very different background from the one where we're on the way back FROM the lake.
Thanks everyone. I had a blast at the shootout and glad I took some candids - actually wish I took more. By about day 3 in Montana (which was day 10 for the preshoot people) I had seen enough mountains. I shared this POV with others, but I love mountains from a distanceas much as I love them surrounding me.
And the Adam walk by was probably me panning with the bear - when I first saw the totally red shot in with my bear shots I thought 'what the... '.
I have others in this gallery and do not protection turned on.

Actually, he wasn't sharing his joy.
He was laughing at me. Really laughing at me.

Snuggling down during the morning sunrise shoot.
It's a bird! It's a plane! During sunrise Grimace spots some immature bald eagles.

Waterfall time!
Devbobo on the farside, Scott, April, and Nightingale on the nearside.
Nick takes some shots of the smugmugians at the bottom of the falls.
Some people found THE spot...
Kendall, Bendr, and April all shot from this ledge at one point.
Lynnsite found a nice ledge too, with Dave Porter, Travis, April and Adam inthe background.

What her shot here DOESN'T show is how TERRIFIED I was
I keep trying to convince myself I'm not scared of heights!
At the falls:
Dave P, Travis (who clearly did not mind being wet and cold in the name of the shot) and the ever smiling April!
The lovely Sharon (Sharon and Jack make a wonderful couple - it was really nice to meet you, Sharon), enjoying a moment of peace:
Another lovely couple:
and I really mean that! Great shooting team, these two! So much fun!
I want to title this "the making of..." but Davids85 hasn't posted the shot yet...

Thank you so much for sharing!

My favorite has got to be the bear shot. I hope that's his coat, and not a casualty of war on the lens.
