This Louisiana Heron is the first I've come across. All photos were taken from the water while kayacking thru the Mangroves. Camera was a Nikon Coolpix 5700 non-SLR. I can't wait to get back there with my D80 (once I get the hang of it). C&C appreciated.

It was a fantastic experience. Most of the shots were taken in the Ding Darling Nature Preserve.

Ding Darling is a great location to shot at. Good set but watch your highlights, some of them are blown are the shots.

How many photographers does it take to change a light bulb? 50. One to change the bulb, and forty-nine to say, "I could have done that better!"

Thanks Harry. I find a lot of my shots suffer from blown highlights but as I'm new to this, I'm not quite sure why that happens and how to avoid that.

Great shots for being in a kayak and using a P&S. My only suggestions are to watch those highlights like Harry said.
