Let the egret fest begin
Hi You'll,
Just got out of the hospital after my colonoscopy so I haven't been able to use My d2H yet so I figured I would share some of my D100 shots of one my favorite subjects the Great Egret. I had wanted to do some shots of the colonoscopy but they wouldn't let me bring my camera into the room
The Egret Egret is a graceful looking bird
but he doesn't mind getting funky on occasion
He's always on the hunt for food
and he's usually sucessful
all shots taken with the 80-400VR and the 300mm/f4 lenses

Normally I'd say that a colonoscopy is too narrow a subject to shoot... but not in your case.

I really like the hip hop look in the 2nd pic.....lol Andy may be right about Fish being upset. Looks like your Egret is snacking on one of his relatives
Re: your colonoscopy, hope everything turns out well for you I'm sort of relieved that they wouldn't let you shoot the procedure :uhoh It's not quite the same thing as, say, Andy's Dentist shot.....
You've got your new camera and your gonna let a little thing like a colonoscopy keep you from trying it out? Strap a bag of ice on your butt and get out there (now there's a terrifying mental image :lol) Remember what they say; No pain, no gain
Feel better soon buddy

I really wanted to be he first to do a photo essay on a colonoscopy:cry Oh well, they want to do another next year maybe I can sneak in a phone camera :
Thnak s for the comments on the egrets and I still have another hundred or so in the hopper.

Don't know how I could make the preparation pleasurable, though. I figure Katie Couric had lots of people to talk to. Camera people all over.
Good egret shots. I would like, pretty soon, to get out and shoot some more birds. I swear, all I have are egrets..........a few, very few, herons, the Ibises, and the X rated hawks.
Harry, could you please send me some storks?
Or flocks of flying birds, many. It would take many shots for me to get one.
ginger
Thank you for youre kind comments. The egret in the second shot is just one of those egrets who is ticked off on GP. I love catching those reflections.
If the hospital hadn't been so darned strict I could have redefined the "butt shot".

As for my colonoscopy shot lets just say there's a reason why Nikon came out with the 12-24 lens.

I think colonoscopy photography is a wide open area just waiting for someone to fill the void.

I once asked why they had to put me to sleep while performing that same procedure. I looked over at the steel table next to the steel table I was reclining on and saw the "apparatus" along side of the largest jar of one of these the company makes:
I stopped asking questions at that point, and let them do their work. I woke up 30 minutes later feeling way different.
I hope the scan was negative. You know, they have a little camera pill now you can swallow and...

Lovely shots as always. And good to see you enjoying the camera!

Hey Michiel.
I don't think egrets live that long but I did use to wear my hair the same way.
Thanks for stopping by.
