Nicely shot set of images, Harry. Lovely color in bright clear sun light.
Thanks PF

I really like the hip hop look in the 2nd pic.....lol Andy may be right about Fish being upset. Looks like your Egret is snacking on one of his relatives
Re: your colonoscopy, hope everything turns out well for you I'm sort of relieved that they wouldn't let you shoot the procedure :uhoh It's not quite the same thing as, say, Andy's Dentist shot.....
You've got your new camera and your gonna let a little thing like a colonoscopy keep you from trying it out? Strap a bag of ice on your butt and get out there (now there's a terrifying mental image :lol) Remember what they say; No pain, no gain
Feel better soon buddy
Steve
Hey Steve,
Thanks for stopping by. Now if you could get thelinks in your post fixed we will have coast to coast egret coverage. Fish will soon find out that this is an egret eats fish world.
I've got the D2H loaded up and will be headed out in afew minutes to try it out.

Atta way!!! Just what Dgrin needs, more egrets. Maybe we will get a separate forum just for egret shots.

Hey Jeff,
Thanks and all looks well with my tests.

Glad to hear your tests came out well Harry and I hope ya bum feels ok now. I'm totally in favour of a completely seperate forum for egrets only ... I have several hundred myself I could fish out:uhoh .. oh sorry, bring out. I refuse to have one of those up yer bum things done.. much too undignified I think:):
up with egrets I say may they live long and prosper...

Can't wait to see those shots! I tried out my 70-200 lens, came the other day, tried it on the dogs, as usual. It was the most difficult lens I have gotten. And the D dogs wanted to sit on my lap. I was thinking wide. Then they wanted to run, and I realized that I had to, just had to, go to 1600 ISO. And I don't see how you would get a flight shot at 5 PM without it.
Anyway, enjoy! I bought, yes, bought, a photo mag last weekend, read it last night. There was a photo of your new camera, it looks fantastic. There is a certain similarity, I think, to all these new Digitals, even Nikon and Canon, it is just that they get better and better.
I hope I am happy. What kind of bag do you use? Do you carry it far?
Now, for what I meant to say, I wonder when Fish is going to find out that that bird is not an egret.
harry. i'm shocked...truly shocked. this is completely unacceptable by any standard of decency. I'm alerting the fish union and yer gonna be in big trouble, buster.
RIP little fishies.
Heck if you're gonna report me I might as well go all the way
Chew on that one for awhile.
Harry http://behret.smugmug.com/NANPA member How many photographers does it take to change a light bulb? 50. One to change the bulb, and forty-nine to say, "I could have done that better!"
Harry, I hope you have no regrets for posting pictures of birds while also talking about the lower regions, so to speak.
No regrets or even reherons about it at all
I once asked why they had to put me to sleep while performing that same procedure. I looked over at the steel table next to the steel table I was reclining on and saw the "apparatus" along side of the largest jar of one of these the company makes:
I stopped asking questions at that point, and let them do their work. I woke up 30 minutes later feeling way different.
I was very grateful towards that product by the end of the procedure.
I hope the scan was negative. You know, they have a little camera pill now you can swallow and...
So far every thing is fine.

Lovely shots as always. And good to see you enjoying the camera!
I'll see if I can get fish out in the morning...paging Steve C...on a
trip to the perk ponds.
Oh, and glad to hear everything came out all right in the end
Ian
Thanks Ian and good luck getting those two up off their duffs.

Bottoms up,

You gotta get up before 9 if you want to get those egrets.

And the hits keep on rollin' in!
Not the best example but I wanted to say I followed Steve C's lead
to day and left at 3:30 for Palo Alto. Damn (can I say that here?)!
There are a lot of birds of the egret kind here!
White on grey. What Can I say except here's another to keep the thread
rolling.

Hey Ian,
Pretty cool shot. You really froze the action in a tough to expose for shot.

Glad you got a chance to duck out of work early and visit the Baylands Yesterday's sky was kind of yucky (although better than today's sky :cry ), you got some real nice captures. So were you using the 500mm? The rookery is so close to the Duck Pond, sometimes 500mm is too just close....lol

Where did that shot come from? Angelo? Is she serious. I was writing a post, got through and there is that heron.
HERON, FISH, HERON: great blue.
I mean i hope this is not colonoscopy month at dgrin.
I could have a problem with that, hate those "month" things, I get guilt from all of it.
ginger
You take the wings off of those birds, doesn't look like there is enough meat to make a meal. What there is is probably all dark meat, too.
Grey Chickens, YAHOO!
