This sounds very cool. Can you step back and take a photo of the whole set up, lights included? I am trying to set up something similar:

I don't use lights, just a cardboard box, I just use the flash.
I'd love a light box, I just don't have the room in this place to have something that can't be folded up and packed away.

Using a light would make it a lot easier for me I'm sure ... one day I'll get one :D

Next time I bring a bug inside I will take a photo of my setup. thumb.gif

Damn Skippy that shot is AWESOME,

What were the exposure settings that you used?

    Hi Augie, I used F11 * 1/100 * ISO 200 * White Balance is on Auto,
as I shoot in RAW.... I used a tripod and a cable release too. :D

It looks cool close up, but you would not see these features with your natural eye as this weevil is very very very small.

Thanks for looking Awais thumb.gif ... Skippy :D

I meant to post on this before. Great shot Skippy. I love weavils. They are such neat little guys aren't they. There are so many different kinds of them too.

Alas my friend, bugs are few and far between for me ne_nau.gif
    Doesn't help that I don't have a garden,
I don't have time for a garden, got better things to do with my little bit of time off, and it doesn't include pulling out weeds :D

Hopefully if this rain keeps up, lots of things should come to the surface.
Thanks for looking Nick thumb.gif .... Skippy :D

Thanks Time, we'd miss out on seeing so much if we couldn't do Macro.
It truly is a world of it's own, and a fascinating one at that thumb.gif

Hey skippy great shot , i have never seen a weevil up quite that close. I am super excited for spring to happen here in canada, as i am anxiously awaiting the bugs. I can find some here on the west coast where i live, but no where near the amount that will come out in the spring
anyway i look foreward to seeing more shots from you

Thank you Nano, I've not had a lot of time to take photos,
with work commitments and renovations being done to my house.

The Reno's will be finished in a few more weeks, and I will get more time then.

I'd be interested to see what bugs you come up with.
    Thanks for looking thumb.gif ... Skippy :D

    What an amazing shot!

Do Weevils not move around much or better put how did you get it to stay still long enough?
