I've started, but I'm already behind Daily is just not going to work as much as I would like it to, so I'm going with a "(sort of) daily photos" project.
I'm going to join the daily photos community, but not sure if I should set my gallery to be part of that as I would like to keep my own look/feel for the pages. EDIT: I may have a solution for this....
I may have worked out something here. Go to the daily photos community ( http://www.smugmug.com/community/DailyPhotos ) and in the recent galleries, locate mine. It's called "(sort of) Daily Photos". Click on it, and see it you get my customization

Create two galleries. The "normal" daily photos gallery with your photos and a "fake" gallery.
The fake gallery is the one that is linked to the community.
In the fake gallery, you can put some JavaScript code that automatically forwards your browser to the normal gallery without you really noticing a thing.
DOWNSIDE: The fake gallery is the one that is linked to the community. The 'recent' galleries show galleries that have recently had photos added to them. This means that the fake gallery would have to have photos added as well if you want the gallery updated in that list.
If anyone is interested despite the downside, let me know and I'll write up a tutorial of some sort.
My thoughts were to just create a duplicate gallery. My airshow gallery I just changed from the category 'Events' to ' Military' so I could join a community. Once I found out it takes on the community look I just decided to create a duplicate in my original location.
My thoughts are, can a unlisted gallery with 'hello world' and 'hello smuggers' still at "yes" that is joined to a community remain visible in the community. In this case, if the gallery in this category is unlisted then the Military category will not show up on my second home page, therefore hiding the odd theme.

That's pretty impressive.

a long time back, Rutt and Sebastian had a go (and discussion) about this. I'm glad you figured it out.
