How many photographers does it take to change a light bulb? 50. One to change the bulb, and forty-nine to say, "I could have done that better!"

    Beautiful
You make me miss the desert. Lived down that way(Indio) for ten years. I love Northern CA much better. I do want to get back and take some shots of the Thousand Palms Oasis and Indian Canyons maybe this spring before it gets blazing hot.

familiar sites (at least some of them). Lived further on down, in Holtville ("carrot capitol of the world" :D ) and the hay bales and burrowing owls (especially remember owl pellets in science class).

nice pix and thanks for the memories.

Hi Glenn.. Love the Owl shots. They look like they are pretty tolerant of humans with cameras.

Nice shots, Glenn, especially the flying egrets. It looks like the burrowing owls were back to their usual tolerant behavior. When I was there right after Christmas, they were quick to back into their burrows.

Thanks Chris! If you give them enough space, and don't move too much they will tolerate you quite well!

    Wow! Great pics....

So as a newb here, what kind of equipment do you use...and how far away are you?

I've been trying to get an picture of an eagle, but end up having to get too close with only 10X optical zoom point'n shoot camera.

Please answer in really simple terms, you know, like, I have 200X zoom and a tripod!!! Otheriwse I won't have a clue what your talking about!
