    Thanks Ron! For most of the bird shots I'm using a Canon 1D MkIIn with a 500 F4 lens. I'm not sure what the X factor is, but probably a little closer than a 10x. Most of the time I'm using a tripod with a Gimbal head. A gimbal head is one of the better heads when you are using a heavy lens. If you are interested in learning more about nature/bird photography I would recommend Arthur Morris's CD, or his book " Birds as Art"
