I wash my GS once a year whether it needs it or not! Or NOT!!! My Suzi will get washed when I need to see some machinery parts for maintenance. My cameras are spotless.
that photo was taken in early March... you know, when there was feet of snow outside?! So in other words, it was hibernating after its token end of season bath. You should see what it looks like today, rather than black it's now a lovely salt/dirt/mud gray-brown.
