First of all, I would like to offer a big "THANK YOU" and "JOB WELL DONE" to our competition hosts here a Digital Grin: to Shay, Doctor It and Andy who have so clearly invested a great in deal of effort in making LPS happen and all the other moderators, artists and staff who have helped in one way or another. While I am sure there are things you'd like to do differently, you have done a remarkable job of designing and shepherding this groundbreaking contest through its first year and overall looking at it from the competitor's point of view I would say it has been a huge success.

:clap :clap :clap :clap :clap :clap :clap :clap :clap :clap :clap :clap :clap :clap :clap :clap

Second, I would like to offer a big THANK YOU to the LPS sponsors without whom this competition could not have happened.

am I missing anybody here?

In particular it was smugmug's extremely generous seed donation which got the the ball rolling on LPS and I would like to thank the vision of Don MacAskill and all the staff at smugmug for their vision and generosity.

This is one of those times where I agree is maybe not quite enough of a response, but LiquidAir has said it so well that adding to it is going to be really hard.

I too have greatly enjoyed the whole LPS experience and if it wasn't for people like Shay, Erik, Andy and all the guest judges, this contest would have been just like many others. The amount of work and passion behind LPS has made it a very satisfying experience for me.

I also need to say that the sponsors of this contest have all been very generous but their participation wasn't just about being generous and giving away a prize - I have experienced personally that the people behind those prizes and behind the big names all share an enormous passion and care for the photographers that use those very products.

In a commercial sense as well as a human sense I think that LPS has been one amazing ride.

    THANK YOU!

LPS was fun, even though I was only in the running from round 17. Made me do things I never tried before.

When you guys get mark 2 straightened out, I'll see you there thumb.gif

Special thanks to the sponsors. For what it is worth, I did end up buying about $200 of stuff from B&H that I could have got from Amazon instead because I wanted to support B&H for having contributed to this contest. And I'd never heard of fotoflot before this but after having looked at their stuff I'm seriously thinking of giving them a try.

And a big thanks to the volunteers who at times must think their job is thankless!

I should clarify: for the whole LPS I, B&H was not a sponsor :)

SmugMug bought and paid in full for all those gift certificates, every single penny.

I'm working on getting B&H to sponsor us for LPS II. Why don't you all tell Henry Posner of B&H how much you love 'em, so that Smuggy can get a little B&H love naughty.gif

I would be happy to, Andy. Can you please tell me which department to address it to and/or the best way to contact him...

I would like to tell him that I had never heard of B&H Photo before starting with Dgrin (I know I live a very sheltered life) and that since finding Dgrin I have become a B&H customer.
