No. It's from San Sebastian - the capital of La Gomera, that belongs to the Canary Islands - an autonomous community of Spain (62 miles west of Marocco).
@sarasphotos What the hell is Hofschank Brunjaun? I typed it up in Google Translate.....it says Luxembourgish detected....and English translation is also Hofschank Brunjaun.

@Stumblebum Taz, you asked for it...
a) this was taken in the South Tirol part of (northern) Italy which used to be part of Austria, so even though you are officially in Italy, German is spoken and reflected in the signage everywhere.
b) Brunjaun is the name of the "Hof" and I'm not sure if it stems from the family name of the original owners or comes from something out of the local dialect ("Brun" could be short for "Brunnen" or fountain, which could make sense in the context).
c) "Hof" is in this case farmyard (also courtyard) and "Schank" means "bar" in the sense of where you get drinks
d) so Brunjaun Hofschank means the Brunjaun Farmyard Bar - where they serve beer, homemade wine or apple juice and simple meals. A lovely place to stop in on an afternoon wander-tour. Just our luck it was closed that day!
Hi Pieter, I don't know of "fan" is the right word in this case, but I nearly always stop and often photograph these war memorials that one finds all over Europe. I find them very poingant.

Well done Jorgen!
You can use this photo in Bicycle and Water thread too.
Now only if you had remembered to open up the aperture.....the bokeh thread was there for taking too!!
Many thanks. If, if and if. As I always say: If I had succeeded with all the shots I have missed I would have been a world famous nature photographer

I guess that it is a name of a restaurant/hotel.
