On the lookout for easy food ...
... Because I'd gone to the bottom of our garden to try out some mods to a macro flash bracket - and presumably thought I'd reveal something tasty in my search for suitable insect life to photograph.
Ended up getting so used (and close) to me, that I had to lean back in order to get all in the frame.
Don't have any decent long lenses, so birds are generally out (more interested in macro, anyway) anyway - nothing partic special pic wise - but an enjoyable experience at the time
20D + 100mm macro + 550ex - only width cropped slightly, not height.

(Early Feb this yr, btw - so didn't find much - so one disappointed birdie)
Birds Around the House
1. Black-chinned hummingbird

2. Mockingbird Fledgling
The last of 3 fledglings still remains in the protective Bougainvillea bush waiting to be fed by its parents.
Canon 30D with EF-S 17-55mm f/2.8 IS at 55mm.
3. California Quail
This California's state bird is on patrol duty up high on the cinder-block wall while its partner leads their young to feed on the ground below.

Hi! I'm relatively new to the forums and I just found this contest. I suppose I'll throw my hat into the ring although I'm not sure I can beat some of the stuff already posted.

I love looking at the photos of the birds. Here is my photo of a Black Swan. I used a Rebel Xti camera and 70-200mm lens.
Here is my token shot of a flamingo. I used a Rebel Xti with 70-200mm lens.
My last photo is of a couple ducks at the park. I used a Rebel Xti camera with 70-200mm lens.
I took these years ago - in fact, I was using film!
Funny, I saw the images before the comment and was going to ask you "are these on film?"
I like the overall feel of these bird images
Oo ooo I took some bird shots this weekend that I like...
