Hello!
This is my first entry as a new member and amateur photographer with a passion for the medium.
Please be kind! : )
About the image: I'm a painter and when I noticed that the area above the boat looked like a painting, I was inspired to go with it. I applied a PS Filter: Artistic: Paint Daubs and felt the effect absolutely suited the image.
Thanks for looking!

EXIF info
(I just noticed the info uploaded from the camera shows date taken as 7-19-07, which is the wrong year, but the modified date is accurate--7-24-08!! I'm guessing the year setting on my camera is off - I'll need to look into that, but I understand if that automatically disqualifies me. (Grrrr!!) I'd still love feedback in any event.
In this photo the following filters were used as I wanted to create a painting/sketch, but one thing I wanted was to maintain enough detail, so I incorporated the use of Action and Texture Filters, such as:
Fractulius, Hard and Soft Crayon, Colored and Charcoal Smudge with sketch, Glam Blur, and Burn't Edge.
You're only as good as your next photo....
One day, I started writing, not knowing that I had chained myself for life to a noble but merciless master. When God hands you a gift, he also hands you a whip; and the whip is intended solely for self-flagellation...I'm here alone in my dark madness, all by myself with my deck of cards --- and, of course, the whip God gave me." Truman Capote
