The first two shots, is that artificial darkening? If NOT, amazing flash work! If it is... well, it still looks awesome lol.

I agree the lighting is fantastic, and it doesn't look like flash.
I also enjoyed all the shots in your series.

The only thing is--I don't get your title for #3.

Thank you. That's natural lighting (the sun). What I do is look for deeply shaded places with small streaks of sunlight peeping through anything above. When a person passes by the light, that's when I shoot. :) Of course, it's all with the help of spot metering and just a tiny bit of vignetting in Photoshop to further darken the shadows. :)

Very very cool. I guess I've just never noticed any places around here where the sun shines through one specific spot. (I bet I'll notice one in the future lol)

    Welcome
I like all of your shots. IMO they all tell a story which to me is the complete Street PJ experience.
    Great capture - very original.
Only nitpic is your signature - I have always hated them. Oh well.

I really enjoyed this series (which surprises me because I don't often find myself drawn to street shots). Your compositions, eye for light, and processing are all very well done and intriguing. I especially love the Teaism shot. thumb.gif

Yea, I don't put watermarks on my new shots now. Those with are from last year's. Woke up one day feeling stupid slapping 'em on my shots without even having a back up of the original files. Learned the hard way.:cry

Hi there. It would be really helpful if you would have separate threads for any new photos you'd like to share. Otherwise, it gets very cumbersome to follow or comment on.

Nice job, but I'd rather not have to wade through tons of stuff to see the latest…

…why not set up galleries, and just post links?

I'm not a great fan of vignetting, in my view it's way overdone at the best of times; it seems to be a common feature of the pictures you've posted here; the danger is that it becomes a cliche… (see also rounded corners…)

I feel the same about titles; IMNSHO I think that the pictures have to speak for themselves, and to title a picture is to admit that the picture has not worked and needs an explanation.

    Thanks for sharing your ideas!

Better still, start a new thread each time you have new pics to share. Some Dgrin members have slow Internet connections and a thread with many images can take a long time to load. deal.gif

I will say Mr Pimp, when I first started this thread, I really liked what I saw, though I agree that there does seem to be a lot of vignetting done PP which after seeing so many times in one thread does lesson the impact by the 5th page or whatever we are on now.

    Hi Wil,

Thanks for the insight. I'm really big on vignettes and I don't know why haha. I'm always for 'different strokes for different folks', so they're gonna stay there until I get sick of 'em.:D

And as for the titles--yes, I want to inject (forcibly) to the viewers what I see in my photos because I believe we all have different interpretations to what we see. For me, street photography is a very complex artform. It's not posed, not deliberate, not intentional and not rehearsed, and I try to make them so by helping the photos through titles. Paintings have titles, songs have titles, sculptures have 'em as well. Photos? Why not?mwink.gif
