Great posts so far from Marc (no surprise here ), and both Dans . Being one of the six other workshop participants it's my turn to post a few pics. Some of my pics are similar to ones already posted so I will refrain from posting those on this thread. Please feel free to browse my gallery if you like for more.
Where to start? Here are a couple of panos from the Sitka bridge.

6. On our way to the uninhabited Islands.
7. A Seagull sunrise.
8. Tails of Whales.
9. Just tail.
10. Yes, it's true that no two whale tails are the same, like fingerprints.
11. After I saw no Puffins at the Acadia shootout last year, I was thrilled to see them here in Sitka. They were very cooperative for the camera.
12 Some of the Islands looked more tropical than Alaskan.
13. Then there was the Land of Starfish.
14. ......and tidal pools of Sea Eneminie.
15. More tidal pools.
16. An HDR sunset pic on the last day of the workshop.
There's plenty more to post, but that will have to wait for another post on another day.
I am eagerly watching for Jim's, Kathy's, and Chris's pics soon.

Hi Dan. I'm Still doing processing. My Mac Pro blew a graphics card just before the Workshop. It is out getting fixed and beefed up with another 4 MRAM and second 1TB drive. I have been doing all my processing on my 15" laptop with only 1 MRAM memory so it's been slow going :cry. I have about a 1/3 of what I expect to process done and in my gallery. Thanks for the comments.

Thanks for your comments and critique. I have re-processed my first pic by re-doing my sky section "curves" mask layer. I also selected "refine mask" and adjusted radius and feather to enhance the mask edge between the treeline and the sky. Here are the before and after versions. Thanks again for your critique and recommendations. I'm looking forward for any additional crit on my other pics.

I love getting Andy riled up
I have to say, I have learned a ton from these two guys. They help me see my own pictures since I am mostly blind when it comes to critiquing my own shots. I know there is so much I can learn but it is when your own shots get deconstructed do I learn the most.

This is great Ross, how about some final tweaks
I will start at the bottom.
This image needed a black point set, more contrast in the center region and minus saturation in the sky. This is the general idea:
In my example, curves 1 is a black point. I opened a curves adjustment layer and drug the lower left corner to the right. Recall, by holding down the opt key and clicking on the lower left node you will see a white image. As you move left it will begin showing areas of black pixels.
Hue/Sat adj layer is done on a selection I made with quickmask and choosing the gradient tool.
Curves 2 is a curves adj layer to darken the sky. I re-loaded the same mask made for t he hue/sat layer for this adj.
Curves 3 is a quick mask made with a large soft edged brush. Then a curves adj layer was made from the mask and some contrast was added. Most of the change was brightening.
