Site not work with iPad - suggestions?

My site works OK with Safari, Ok with 2nd browser, and relatives and friends in other states get in OK with PCs and Macs.

But when I try to access it on my iPad - after the usual phishing warning - it simply accesses Smugmug itself. I can use "Log-in" on the Smugmug to access it - but it would be nice if a potential customer could access it on the iPad. LOL.

Would be most grateful for any suggestions. Thank you. Bill Wilson (gbear)

I think you're more likely to get help if you post a link to your site so people can see what you have.

If you add your site URL to your signature you won't need to remember to include it in your post. Click the clipboard icon in the navbar above, then Edit Signature. Begin your link with http:// to make it clickable.

    Hi Bill,

I am confused by what you said in your original post...about the phishing warning. That may have something to do with it. Can you take a screenshot of that message? I have never seen that warning on my iPad

Thanks for the interest. I don't know how to get a screenshot from my iPad to here, so I literally took a shot of the iPad screen and placed the image on my site. If you go to my site it will be the first image on rotation on page 1; for a longer look click "IMAGE SAMPLES". I am still working on the site so will leave this image on it for a day or two.

    Thanks again Bill (gbear) http://bill-wilson.smugmug.com/

PS did not bother to "square up" or anything, it is quite visible as is

    Bill -
You might want to consider adding an unlisted gallery to your site for images like these. Then you can just add a direct link to the image rather than asking that we look at a slideshow to catch the first image.

Also - if you add your site URL to your signature here you will not need to include it in every post. Instead it will be included automatically. Click the clipboard icon in the navbar above, then Edit Signature. Begin your link with http:// to make it clickable.

Hi Denise - thanks for your repeated helpfulness ! !

I don't know what an "unlisted gallery" is. I looked under Smugmug help and got 221 answers - I just don't have time to search them all for "unlisted gallery" today; I will try to find same as soon as possible.

As to signature - again, when I get a chance I will set up same. Since I use a text expander all I do to get the signature you see below is type "sig" and hit return.

Thanks - Bill Wilson (gbear) http://bill-wilson.smugmug.com/

    Hi Bill,

Your site opened fine on my Ipad 3. Just wanted to let you know I cannot open my website on my Ipad either. It starts to load my homepage and crashes every time. Strange thing is, I can view all the other new SM sites with no problem. I thought it had to do with my legacy site causing problems but I reset my Ipad back to the original manufacturers settings and my site still crashes. Here is where I posted about my problem:

Thanks, androit. I note lots of apparent variables in your posts on this problem. About the only real comment I can think of is that - with so many different devices, by so many different companies, it is a wonder as much of everything works as does work ! Apparently most ipad load mine OK. . .will have to do.

    Thanks Bill Wilson (gbear) http://bill-wilson.smugmug.com/

An unlisted gallery does not show to your viewers unless you give them the link. Go to the Security and Privacy section of the gallery settings and change Privacy to unlisted.

Are you using Safari on your iPad? And you go directly to http://bill-wilson.smugmug.com/ ?

Yes, I am using Safari. I am not sure what you mean "And you go directly to http://bill-wilson.smugmug.com/ "

What I do is there is a heading at the top of Safari where the address "http etc" shows of whatever site Safari is in. I go up to this, go to the right end of what is there, and then back up to http:// and type in bill-wilson.smugmug.com/ - hitting a return produces the phishing sign, clicking on "ignore this warning" takes me to my site.

Maybe there is another or better way - I just don't know any other way to access a specific site using the ipad.

    Thanks again for your interest.

Thanks for the comment, tobeme ! All fixed now. It seems the iPad is not happy with the hyhen. I have had to change the name of my site to avoid conflict with an established Smugmug site jillxwilson - I was using billxwilson (the x is to keep from activating any of this. I am now using my middle name (Reynolds) and last name (Wilson) = Bill (from my first name, William) is far too common a name. So - all fixed, works fine on regular windows computer, iMac with 23 inch screen, and iPad.
Thanks to everybody who helped ! ! ! gbear http://reynoldswilson.smugmug.com/
