I'm selling my 8 (almost 9) month old Nikon D2H and purchasing a D200 when they come out.
(yeah yeah..call me crazy. But this way my wife doesn't complain TOO much! :D Besides....I really don't need the D2H)

Purchased new from B&H on March 14th, 2005 (receipt included)
Low accuations of 8230!
Original box included with the following items:
English/Spanish booklets (Spanish versions weren't found until after the photos were taken)
cable to hook up to computer
Thom Hogan's Complete Guide to the Nikon D2H CD-ROM
Nikon Strap
Battery (not extra, just listing what is included)
battery charger MH-21

Only 2 things "wrong" with it:
The cap for the 10-pin terminal is missing
Tiny..and I mean TINY scratches on the lower front. You can see them in the photos and I pointed them out. You can barely tell..but I pointed them out for fairness.

I don't *think* I registered this with NIkon...there are the paperworks here but I may have done it online. Anyway to find out?

Photos are here http://louisvilleky.smugmug.com/gallery/1008862

Price? $1500 firm plus shipping costs*. I accept money orders/cashiers checks but they must clear first before shipping. I also accept paypal, and I'll split the fees.

Sorry, US shipping only.
I have 100% feedback on ebay (ID is jbr_in_ky).

Email or PM..I check this site everyday. If you want to talk to me in person, I'll PM my phone number.

*Shipping costs depends on carrier, destination, and method (2nd day air, ground, etc)

I'm also listing this on FredMiranda.com

The D2H is a great camera, I bought mine about the same time he did and love it. John how did you find how many frames you have shot with it?

    James,
I use OSX, so it wasn't easy to find.

You have to shoot in JPEG format to get the info.

    John,

Ya killing me!!! A D2h for $1400!!! If I didn't have one already it would be sold. A pro body camera for $1400! This is the finest handling camera I have ever used. Phil Askey in his review on DPR wrote:
"The Nikon D2H is one of a very few cameras which feels almost perfectly 'sorted'. By this I mean it's very difficult to use the camera and find faults, almost any faults, which will affect the camera's purpose in life, which is to be a very fast, flexible, robust and reliable photographic tool. It's very hard to live with the D2H and not love the way it feels in your hand and responds so quickly when that split second photographic opportunity arrives. I seriously can't imagine a digital SLR which could operate more quickly, both in terms of delays to shutter release (power up, AF, shutter release lag) and continuous shooting speed.

Build qualty, control layout and design are second to none, and as a personal opinion I believe it feels and handles better than the Canon EOS-1D/1Ds. Nikon's attention to detail and understanding of professional photographers needs is clearly on display with almost every aspect of this camera."

This is one of the bets buys I've seen in a long while.

How many photographers does it take to change a light bulb? 50. One to change the bulb, and forty-nine to say, "I could have done that better!"

I have an admitted problem with wanting new toys, and I don't have that much of a lens investment, so I'm considering it.

I have to get my paws on one first, see how the buttons match up with my not so dainty sausages. I've been told that a 20D looks like an XT in my hands.

Sweet, also on mac here, my D2H is showing 22,410 without a single issue other than having to clean the lens contacts right after I got it. I am also interested in a secound D2H body, hmmmm.

I'm seriously considering putting this up on ebay and get $1500 for it. A friend showed me 2 up there that sold for over that.

James, I would SO keep this camera because it feels so right....but, I think the D200 is the camera I "need".

    One day I'll have the D2X thumb.gif

Given the choice, I'd go for the D200 too. It looks to be the perfect photo taking machine for the advanced amateur/low end pro. I'm drooling over it myself...but it's hard to justify given my skill level. Then again...maybe someone would buy my D70 for $1400..anyone? Anyone? Oh, nm. rolleyes1.gif

56 minutes here on dgrin, lets follow it...

    FS $1500
    price drop $1400
changed my mind, back to $1500 and off to ebay!

Man, you're more indecisive than I am!

(in other words, is the offer at $1400 void and do you want me to moderate?)

    How to use EXIF Viewer
Hey, John: A quick OT question.

First, though, thanks for posting the Mac utility.

OK: How, exactly, did you find the total image count? I downloaded the EXIF program onto my Mac, popped the last photo I shot in my D100 (I shoot .jpeg's only) into the program, then started looking around at the window file that popped up.

What part of the file tells you the total photo count? The only number that seemed reasonable to me, under "Other Properties," is "Offset to JPEG Data: 23976," or prehaps the "Bytes of JPEG Data: 11053." (I've had my camera for two years and shoot professionally, so the number should be pretty big by now.)

The help file is a joke; it's basically just a readme of version updates. How do I interpret this data?

(Yes; it's OK if you call me stupid, as long as someone has the answer!)

    ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
