Here's a shot of my IWC Mark XV. This may go on the auction block to top off my funding for a 500 f/4, but it's just so damn simple and elegant I can't bear to part with it yet.
I visited my dad today and we talked a little bit about watches. He mentioned that one of his clients recently bought the proper watch to go with his car. A Breitling for Bentley Mulliner Tourbillon. I had no idea what a Tourbillon movement was before today. Stunning, pure engineer geek heaven!
It is the purpose of life that each of us strives to become actually what he is potentially. We should be obsessed with stretching towards that goal through the world we inhabit.

Timex used to make decent durability stuff in the US, now they make low durabilty (in addition to everything else) stuff in sweatshops.
And for the record, longest lasting watch on the board I think is my dad's Longines, which was his fathers, which was purchased new in 1928.
Completely extravagant, sure, but as a gearhead, it's just so hard not to stare.
