Christmas Trees in the Windows
A couple days ago it was a record high of 81 at about 3 PM in Austin. By midnight it was snowing and 32. I was up and thought lets see if there is anything good to shoot around town. I headed to downtown Georgetown and it was a ghost town no cars no people just the store fronts and the Christmas lights. While the snow did… -

Who here on Street/PJ shoot 35mm film?
Who else here shoots 35mm film for street/PJ? This is the same exact camera I had in the Army (Germany) back in 1980-81 right down to the plastic camera strap! I'm not even going to take one shot until I drop off the ON-2n for it's restoration back to the spec's of the early 1980's. Three of the four lenses look pristine… -
Re: Experimenting with light..
Lynn - You can get a little warmth in the color by adding an 81a or 85 filter in photoshop in Image>Adjust>Filter> 81 or 85 and adjust the slider to taste. I think the commands are correct I am not at my desktop right now. And I agree 1/13th is too slow, even for the more steady female hand :D :D Stop down to f5.6 as… -
Re: Barber Shop
Jack, you are so kind. You're wayyyyy up there in NOVA land! Rural Retreat is about 286 miles from your general area. Pretty much a run directly down I-81. Thanks for looking at the thread! I must say I did a LOT of slider sliding both in LR5 and then more PP in PS. Tom, this really means a great deal to me coming from a… -

Re: MX Pics
Thanks Lara. I shot quite a bit vertical over the weekend. The problem I had was that I didn't have a backup battery for the IIN yet, and I knew I would be shooting close to a couple thousand images per day. Because of the speed of the riders and how close I was to the action, I was ending up with more in focus shots with… -
Re: Looking for a Tripod and head.
My first tripod was a cheapy 'cause I thought "hey, it has 3 legs, that's all you need" I had read posts where people were saying spend all you can on a tripod but did not belive them About a month ago I upgraded to a Manfrotto 190D Pro (http://www.manfrotto.com/Jahia/cache/offonce/pid/2050?fullList=0|67|68|69|71&idx=71)… -
Re: Close Encounters of the Third Kind
I'm so sorry Awais...I thought everyone would remember this movie (I forget there are people younger than me). One of my favorite movies. Maybe you are a little young to remember this? :D (1977) is director/writer Steven Spielberg's first film after the enormously successful blockbuster Jaws (1975).…
