Re: Domain name help
OK I am all of the sudden really awake so here is a much better answer to solve your problems faster. Netlogistics is the hosting company. However NetRegistry is the domain hosting company or domain registrar if you will. These are the only people you should be concerned with at this point and they are you who need to talk… -
Re: Filters
I agree with Nik on which filters to look at first...but I would look at it this way.......which lens in the present or future will have the largest filter size........mine will probably be the Sigma 10 - 20 (m i now have my lens list down to 3 lens all sigma...70-210 f2.8, 24 - 70 f2.8 and 10-20...other than that a couple… -
Re: Site Speed???
Slow for me as well I just signed up to smugmug on Friday and I'm noticing it is very slow as well. I have been trying to configure my site all weekend and it has been very frustrating with poor page loads and timeouts. My site location is http://macmoov.smugmug.com/ Here is my speed test. And my traceroute Microsoft… -
Re: >>> LPS#10 Feedback thread
Wow, judging was tough, but I had a great time. Thanks again Shay for the opportunity. I'm just going to start with comments on my top 10. 41 - Tentacion - Under The Pier I really love the chaos of this image. I actually feel like I’m in danger looking at it. It fits the theme spot on. Great shot. I'm sorry this did not… -
Re: Space Station flyover
This shot was 36 seconds at 42mm, f/4, ISO200. Of course, since the viewfinder was blacked out, I don't know if the exposure needed to be that long. I waited until I was "pretty sure" that it had passed out of the field of view, then released the cable. I had long exposure noise reduction on, so it took another 36s until I… -
Re: Combining ND Filters
Do you need 10 stops?? Be aware that it is difficult to even see through a 10 stop filter, or focus sometimes in less than bright sunlight with a fast lens. With a slow lens - say f5.6, AF may not work at all. Just a thought. Fliter House shows 82mm Hoya ND filters in ND2, ND4 and ND8. B&H Photo lists three pages of 82mm… -
Re: LPS20 - Unofficial Feedback Thread
Thanks for the comments... I don't know what I was going for here... What I really wanted to show was the my take on Adam & Eve - hence temptation. Couldn't get my daughter to be Eve! hence the chain!!! And it was a late entry... The orange hue was to bring out this feeling of wanting to go get a bite of the apple, but in… -
Re: Monopods
I carry a P-Pod by Giottos and really like it......as far as swinging around...remember it is a mono pod and you do not need a panning head...the whole mono pod will pan......there has been a lot of talk against haveing the 3 screw in legs taht are stored inside the lowest extension...but I have used mine alot......I set… -
Re: Vail, CO...Places for Landscape & Wildlife?
If you look at a map you'll see that there aren't that many roads off of I-70 and 4WD might not do you much good on the forest service roads in the high country at this time of year...the roads will have several feet of snow on them. A decent option might be to head south toward Leadville via route 24 and do a loop that… -
Re: portrait help please!
Elaine, First, that’s a beautiful photo. I’m not an expert but here goes: The color seems way out of balance. I don’t know why it came out that way. I don’t know enough to go in and fix it locally. So I took it into cmyk and, at the bridge of the nose in that shadow, the readings are c-44 m-51 y-82 k-28. Okay, that’s…
