Control Panel lag
I've been experiencing extremely slow access to my Control Panel for the past few days. This afternoon it's noticably slower. It just took 2 min. 24 secs. to load. I'm experiencing no lag with any other web site; not even accessing my Smugmug site. Here's a traceroute. 1 nat1.sv3.smugmug.net (10.27.3.2) 0.115 ms 0.083 ms… -
Re: Glass does make a difference!
To first respond of froglady. I have the camera set to burst mode, but rarely do I shoot rapid fire. I just leave it there for situations where I am unsure of the action and the single shot mode wont move fast enough, but 97% of the time I am just shooting singles anyways. In terms of Autofocus I just use the center one.… -
Re: Weegee -- a great classic street photographer
[imgl]http://museum.icp.org/museum/collections/special/weegee/images/wg6-97.jpg[/imgl] There's a big difference between the reissue and the first editions (big bucks). The reissue looks like a bad fax. The original looks like a pulp magazine. The quality of the reproductions in Weegee's World are much better than either.… -
Re: Need advice on breaking out of Craigslist marketing.
Great advice so far, amigos. Just reading what's already been written has given me some ideas. As far as FB ads, I've done those off and on. I haven't had much success, but I don't spend much either. I think...maybe, I landed a contract off a FB bride. I need to check that, and if I did, then it has payed for itself, and… -
Re: $15,000 to spend for my business, what to get.
Sigma 18-50mm, f2.8 Also look at the Sigma 18-50mm f/2.8 EX DC. It's a crop only lens, but it's not bad wide open and spectacular at f4 (same as the Canon 17-40 wide open), but a little longer working range. I just shot an event (pro-bono) yesterday, and I was very pleased with the results. Very little post-processing… -

Reliable, network-interruption-tolerant supported uploader?
I regularly see lots of upload questions regarding upload errors, incomplete uploads, uploads where 97 out of 105 images successfully uploaded, etc... If users even realize what happened, they are advised to go look at the upload log, figure out which images failed and manaully re-upload those. What a painful user… -
D800 vs D800E
Anybody considering purchasing either of these? Which way are you leaning? I'm ready to buy a new camera. My primary interest is sports photography (for fun, not pro), but I can not rationalize the cost of a D4 (and would be a little conflicted about the size even if the cost were lower) - though I might rent one from time… -
Mini Challenge #97 (SP)
Ok I've thought long and hard about this mini challenge. I know it's been done before but it was done way before I joined and I figured it was time again. Artists have been doing self-portraits for centuries in many mediums, from paintings, sculptures, daguerreotypes/photography. It is a provocative experience and… -
