Thank you, SmugMug! Starting my 5th year & counting! Best photo site ever!
Warning: this is a love note! :sweet I just want to bring kudos to SmugMug today, for bringing me the ability to share my art in a way I'd never been able to before. I pay for my Pro-level account by the year, and to be honest, from year to year I completely forget what the cost is. When I was notified that the year's dues… -
FS: Acer Aspire 4520 Laptop - LN - $460 shipped
I have a very nice Acer Aspire Laptop I need to sell. I bought this and a tablet to see which I would like better, and I am going to keep the tablet. It was purchased right around new year's from a major retailer. Great little laptop for the money, just decided my tablet was more useful for what I need. In Ex+ condition.… -
Miracle on the Hudson - US Airways crash in NYC
By now, I'm sure most of you have heard about the US Airways Airbus A320 which ditched in the Hudson River on Thursday afternoon. The aircraft, US Airways Flight 1549, departed La Guardia Airport with 150 passengers and 5 crew. Shortly after takeoff, they encountered was is believed to be a flock of Canada Geese, and the… -
Re: Notebook computers???
If your using a lappy mostly for the purposes of PS 4.0 I would suggest Intel over AMD any day. AMD has been getting such a good rap lately about their performance but that really applies to gaming more than anything else (SMPs not withstanding). As for photo and video editing along with other workstation tasks the, P4… -
Re: How many images to provide the customer?
Think about it like shooting a baby. The parents want some shots without the baby crying. You could spend an hour waiting for that moment and capture 3 to 5 images. While you would love to give them 10 or more, the opportunity did not present itself in the time allotted. The wedding pros that I know try to get the shots… -
Re: Any medium format people here?
Good point. If you're really interested in getting into medium format, I'd reccomend used Hassy equipment for starters. 6x6cm worth of film from a Zeiss lens, now that's a benchmark. You'll be printing 11x14" and 16x20" as if it's a 4x6", "hand-out-to-your-friends" kinda print! I'm not too sure about Mamiya equipment… -
Re: Beach Outing
Dave, Here's my few thoughts on your photos. I've looked at the whole gallery and you have captured a wide variety of poses that I think would give your friend lots of great options. 1. I'm guessing from the EXIF, but it appears that you probably used your 28-135mm the whole time, and mostly up close. I think that some of… -
Re: Safe, No Out, No Safe....
Keeping the ball in the frame is always a good idea. But there comes a point when it interferes with "cropping close," which is my preference for sports photos, and you have to give up on keeping the ball in. Where that line is? Highly subjective and individual. If I were post processing for sale (which is what I do with…
