Re: Mass Storage with RAID
I agree I agree with you as far as having fast accessible space to work up your photos. When CFphotography was talking about mass storage I assume CF was asking about long term backup. There are many different types of photographers here from newbies wanting to take better photos of there kids to professionals that if they… -
Re: create gallery using existing photos from other galleries
papajay, We cache the images even if the External Links are set to "NO" -- it's just that they can't be displayed on our pages, but we should be able to find them by key-word search. You don't have to create new TTLJournal account to update the image cache. I suspect the reason you are not seeing the correct search results… -
Re: Wireless flash trigger options?
Agreed ... I suppose it saves 10 cents and besides, it encourages you to buy more Canon EOS system flashes . ...Although for about $15 you can get hot shoe adaptor, into which the flash mounts and into which you plug a PC sync cord for triggering. (I just bought some gear from eBay seller "PhotoGearOK" and he/she offers… -
Re: Pricing Advice
Thank you Shinrya; this is exactly the answer I was looking for. Yea, I was thinking of making my own watermark in the mean time and much smaller; yea I Knew it was bad, also not sure why the date of when a photo was taken matters unless your doing a blog/journal thing; I figure quality is important, not the date. I was… -
Re: Decent Lighting / Low Cost for Intimate Model Shoot
1st. At KEH you Should be looking at this page first: http://www.keh.com/Camera/format-Digital/system-Canon-Digital?s=1&bc=40&bcode=DC&bco=491& Then Choose your poison. Fixed focal length, Non-mfg fixed focal length lenses, etc. It looks like you probably went to 35mm first and you can't do that with your camera which is a… -
Re: Football Help
Not sure what the level of play is here - sounds like youth and not HS but can't tell. In most HS venues, flash seems to be allowed. But you need an external flash and you want to get it off the camera - a shoe-mounted flash will result in monster-eye - more reflection than typical red-eye so it is pretty impossible to… -
Re: question about macros
A lot of the stuff I say may be jibberish to you, but you'll have to learn all of this stuff anyway. So, here we go! +1 to Canon as stated. Since Canon has a specialty macro lens that no other brand has, I'd go with Canon. If you end up falling in love with super close up macro and have Nikon, you will be in pain once you… -
Re: The Last Day
Thank you, all. The reality is that taking them wasn't all that difficult - I find that the camera provides distance in uncomfortable situations, and by concentrating on capturing images, rather than thinking about what is happening, I am able to remove myself a bit from the reality of what's going on in front of and… -
What the heck have I been doing? (Caribbean images.)
(Yeah, I know these aren't strictly landscapes, but I'm posting them here because this is where I usually post.) Wow, it's been a crazy winter! In the last six months or so, I have: Destroyed two point-and-shoot cameras Had two Canon 5D's bite the dust on me Ruined my Canon 24-105mm f/4 L lens Wrecked my 80GB iPod Lost my… -
Lenses how to find one.
Hi all, I am lost and a bit of desperate. I am trying to find me this period two lenses a very wide one and a street zoom that is not very heavy. I guess you know that already from my previous posts. I am making this post as I feel quite desperate on finding lenses. I am not asking for suggesting me specific lenses, there…
