Re: Brazilian native kids posing
Hi all. I´m subscribed to other forums and also do host several images at PBase. I am new here but, so far, I feel that other members do not comment / critizise pictures so often as I was used to see... Let´s take this example: 129 views, one comments. I am wondering: is the image so bad? But even so, I am used to receive… -
Re: Stuck in processing - when will the problem be fixed?
I have this problem almost every time I upload, one or a few will take 10 to 100 times as long as the others. It is truly annoying, as it thows off numbering (e.g. "look at #132" which for me is 132, but for someone else it's 129 because 3 are processing). It makes it very difficult to use Smugmug as a reliable conveyance… -

Mini Challenge #129 - Winners
Well... I'd like to point out that picking the winners is tough when the theme's so vague. I'll try to make a point of not offending anyone with the selections... Feel free to point out others you would have pointed to... Okay... enough. Honorable mentions to... ConCoconut for what looks like his/her first Dgrin post that… -

Re: RAW->JPEG, why do my jpeg's seem grainy?
Exposure is just as critical with Raw as JPEG but you're feedback to correct exposure is way off thanks to how the manufacturers treat their LCD/Exposure systems (based on film, not Raw). If you truly underexpose the image, you get more noise. Raw is linearly encoded data (JPEG isn't). If you have a 12 bit image with 6… -

Re: Software for ".MOV video
In case any PC folks out there were following this thread looking for the answers for which I was searching, here's what I learned. I was successful using MPEG Streamclip to transcode my 7D .MOV files to Motion JPG AVIs and editing them in Vegas 9 Platinum. The problem with the Motion JPGs is that they're lossy, due to… -
Re: Photo Management Software
Expression Media v. IDimager I think this is going to be a no-brainer. It only took me days to figure this out, but better now than later. I've downloaded both programs and played with both rather extensively. EM seems pretty good, even though it's in beta right now. But, bugs and incompleteness aside, it does seem quite… -
Re: Are the Smugmug servers overloaded?
I'm still at 719 kbps download. I get 11MB at other POPs and 7-10MB with myspeed and other benchmark sites.
