Re: The Cure for Lens Lust
So...I used to buy a lot of motorcycles. Expensive motorcycles - BMWs and Triumphs. I've had six new ones since '97. Every single one of them cost me 2x MSRP. Why? Because I had to buy the equivalent amount of furniture, jewelry, or home improvements that I spent on motorcycles. Now that I'm into cameras, it's costing me a… -
Re: Photos extend beyond the frame
JT, I believe the following CSS code will fix the problem: -winn [php] #header, #footer, #cobrand_footer, #feeds, #content, #singleImage, #elegant_small, #journal, #traditional, #allthumbs, #slideshow, #press_release { width: 100%; padding: 0; } #breadcrumb, #albumDescription, #comment_box, #photoTools, #caption,… -
Re: 5D Mark III - First 24 Hours Review (post yours here!)
Did you read page 97 of the manual yet? It might help but I don't know. And the 70-200 F4 doesn't get cross type AF... although I think you have the 2.8. Otherwise I can't confirm anything mine is in the mail still :) Either way, the MKII would have a decent chance that it wouldn't get the shot anyway in the situation, lol -
Re: Get a Sneak Peek at SmugMug's new design!
Abe, if you can use CSS customizations with your account level, try this: #lightBoxBG {opacity: 0.97; filter:alpha(opacity=97);} I don't really remember where I found this, but it works. The first value needs to be between 0 and 1, while the second value needs to be between 0 and 100. 0 is fully transparent; 1 (or 100) is… -
Re: Unofficial LPS 15 Feedback Thread
There were so many fantastic photos!!! Thanks to richtersl, flying gina, and madrid for including me in their favorites. I haven't really taken part in these contests but I've always admired everyone's work here. It was so hard to choose but my top five are #97 ghost catcher, #108 watercolors, #43 early morning silence,… -
Re: Horrible Word and profiles
Mystery solved. The problem was that I was saving .doc (backward compatibility to 97) from Word 2008 for Mac. In that mode, it just plain gets the gammas wrong. I mean really wrong. Same goes for the pdfs it makes. Save as a docx and then as a pdf and both are good. And why was I doing this? Because there are lots of… -
DSS 97 Different options
I already entered the first shot, as I wasn't sure how my time would be towards the end of the challenge, but now have some extra time & possibilities. Comments please: 1. Watching (current entry) 2. Camouflaged 3. I see eyes (I know, it's kinda creepy - never looks like my mind's eye!) 4. They're still open ... 5. - still… -
Re: Classic racing cars at Prescott
Thanks You're absolutely right - the background has definitely limited the appeal of many of the shots. Looking back on the Porsche shots, it's a real distraction. Here are a couple more where I think they are a little better composed: This one could be cropped even tighter... Here's one where I tried to utilise the… -
