Re: Highlight Priority anyone?
It doesn't slow down the continuous rate on the 40D. I get about 69-74 L jpgs and 17 raw shots w/ it on. I've noticed about 1/3 - 2/3 stop saved detail in my highlights. My shadows haven't suffered when I used it at ISO 200. I haven't used it above ISO 200. I don't keep it on because I've seen the warning in the manual… -
Re: Looking for some feed back- Car Pics
Indeed- mustang is what most would guess due to the color and pretty much identical front ends with the..... AMX Javelin.. If you look at it again you can make out the name on the engine hood. The fuel cap is from a 69 Charger, made famous from the Dukes of Hazzard, and is located on the driver side rear deck. Most of the… -
Re: where to go from here
Had to have a bash at this with PSP9. I started with the first (reddish) image and followed this path: * Channel mixer: in red channel, reduced red to 60%, added 30% green and 10% blue * Color balance: -13; 6; 10 * Histogram: 6; 1.00; 232 * Curves: Green 194/179 64/69; Blue 195/183 64/83 * Still too yellow, HSL: Yellow sat… -
Re: Cheapo Canon EF 50mm f/1.8 II
I don't know about you Fish - Here's a guy that puts $69 lens on a 10D and then whines? It really is a pretty nice lens, but I think the f1.4 is a better choice, since the f1.8 is only one stop faster than your Tamron 28-75f2.8 Di. But then again the f1.4 50mm Canon costs about the same as the Tamron 28-75 zoom too. But it… -

Re: Lens Q?: 24-70L or Sigma 24-70 and Canon 100 Macro?
I don't do *tons* of close proximity sports, just would like the ability for when I do. What is the loss here in that compared to the 24-70 it does not hold the "L" status? I noticed on one review I read that they said for overlapping focal lengths and aperture the reviewer found the 17-55 to be sharper. Anyhoo, your take… -

Re: Point/Counterpoint
Always love your work Harry and these are no exception. Really torn on the subject though this sorta thing makes me remember 69 when I returned, didn't like the feelings then, don't like em now and worse, hate not having any decent answers, feel so stupid sometimes on worldy matters. I do know that Laura and I pray for… -
Re: Back in Southeast Asia Again - (Bandwidth Warning)
The Scott event looked pretty amazing and it's impressive that one could climb 69 flights of stairs in turnouts-I know that can't be easy. I always got the impression SE Asia was littered with temples. I don't know why that is but I guess when I look around home, I see quite a few churches (one just opened next door to a… -
Beartooth Highway
Cooke City, Montana, sits just outside the north end of Yellowstone National Park. The Beartooh Highway starts there, dips briefly back in to Wyoming, then back in to Montana as it works its way to Red Lodge, Montana. It's about a 69 mile ride that reaches its peak at the Beartooth Pass....roughly 11,000 feet in…
