Re: please critique my first wedding set
first wedding set. I hope the following is helpful...I looked at your website and it is very good. Okay, here goes. Picture composition and coverage is good. However, you have some glaring errors. First being that the white balance is off in some of the shots. White clothes look blue or gray (off white)...custom white… -
Re: Girl's high school lacrosse
You have a decent kit for lax assuming you're games are daytime, or under really good stadium lights. IMO the D300 is only good for about ISO 3200 (assuming you have good noise reduction software.) That being the case, if you're shooting under typical (crappy) HS lights, you are in for some disappointingly blurry images.… -
Re: RAW or JPG
Pathfinder, Thank you. I can remember Ruth said he was shooting RAW and JPG at the same time. This procedure is space consuming in the cards. But today, and because of this very thread I shot pictures in RAW and in JPG and here they are. I came to the conclusion that sometimes RAW is better and sometimes the other way… -
Re: The SmugMug and Lightroom 3 Publish Services Thread
Found a situation that might be working as designed, but it is not telling the user that there is an error. It might not be directly related but all my testing indicated it was the cause. What is happening is that if multiple images are included in a Lightroom published online gallery are trying to be deleted the multiple… -
Re: Are the Smugmug servers overloaded?
1316/396 from Tampa Bay Road Runner. That's a bit thin, since I know my line is good for 4000-5000 to, say, Speakeasy Atlanta. Alas, I can't do a 'good' traceroute at the moment conveniently (WinMTR requires admin privs on 2000, and no linux boxen in the room -- and windows' traceroute is ... less than useful... but I… -
Re: Smugmug slow to load?
Slow for me too last couple days Mine has been slow for the last couple days as well. Tracert is below for both smugmug.com and my site. I find that the site responds in reasonable times, but loading is another story. For example, it can take up to a minute for all the thumbnails to load on my home page (there are 50), and… -
Re: Pen Tablet - Do you use it?
I picked up a 10 x 6.25" tablet from monoprice a while back. The price was right and I wanted a nice large tablet for use. My only previous experience with a tablet was with a Wacom bamboo for about two days before I returned it, and my laptop with a wacom enabled touch screen. I find the tablet to be a little wonky with… -
Re: A Trip Too Small: Fiji, New Zealand, and Some More
Leaving behind a place we all have always wanted to be since we became climbers, we moved on to a place we all have always wanted to be since we became climbers. It's a rough life, but we rolled into Bishop, CA, with daylight to spare, and after a brief stop at a gear shop (where by the way Kelsey they had two copies of… -

Finally, more from my first wedding, lot's of images
I shot the entire day in aperture priority because I was sick so it was easy, and I heard it was good to catch the quick moments. These are some I want to share for several reasons, some I think are really nice images, some I just love the content. My bride was a no nonsense gal, so I did not ever have her alone to shoot…
