Re: A Vineyard Affair
first ....Looks like a fun wedding to shoot. :D and a great looking couple to boot!!!! Interesting shots here and i looked at the thread and the 140 or so shots on your site. Overall - you are on for focus/colors and timing of shots. for example - the interior Church shot (from the back) is fantastic - lots and lots of… -
Re: speed
I have been experiencing extreme slowness for the past two days. Galleries showing thumbs but not photos. Photos sometimes only appearing as half a photo, until another page refresh. This is not normal for my access in New Jersey. Attaching Trace Route and Ping results. Let me know if you would want me to do anything else.… -

Re: Entering print comp....cc away
Well, the results are in and I need to improve some and the judges were tough, but they always are. It's the only way to improve when others judge you work and give cc. One of the judges was a 25 year old female that had her Masters from the Professional Photographers of America. That takes a bunch of years to obtain and… -
Re: F2.8 Through Zoom Range
That was kind of my point bringing up the Nikkor 14-24. That is supposedly an outstanding lens that many pro wedding photogs might have. Thom Hogan says it's so good that it beats all 4 of the Nikkor primes in its range (14, 18, 20, 24), and is incredibly sharp. By all accounts, this is a lens worth owning, indeed I've… -
New Texas Photographer (and possibly other states)
I hope you find this information as useful as I did:D . I just thought I should share, considering I was a little confused at first as well. Thank you for using tax.help email to inquire about your photography business and sales tax in Texas. You are a photographer, and you do not have a studio. You work only on location,… -
Re: WW II Navy dive bombers
Thank you. Hal and his beautiful wife, Molly, are two of the finest folks I've ever met. She was an accomplished artist and drew for me a couple of pictures celebrating Hal's career as a warrior pilot. Her gifts are some of my most cherished possessions. Sadly, Molly died a few years after I met them. Hal eventually moved… -
Re: On working for free
There are ways to make "free" work. But I don't think Google exposure is one of them. Will that exposure REALLY drive a client to you? That's the question you gotta ask. Who is your potential client, where might they find you, what might drive them your way. But shotgunning free stuff in hopes of future revenue is simply… -
