Re: Tamron to Nikkor??
Never get an equestrian photographer involved in horse-killin'! I had a post on the same subject, with photos on a D200, first image from my 17-55DX set at 55mm, the second from the same tripod spot using a 24-135 also set at 55mm, and the image is exactly the same, top to bottom, left to right. That thread has fallen off… -
Re: Assignment #46: Feet
Crescent Moon Feet? I know this thread is a bit older, but I am just catching on to the assignment section of Dgrin. I saw the "feet" category a few days ago and really started thinking about how I might approach the subject. I wanted to push my creativity and not do a "normal" take on the subject. Whether or not it was… -
Re: Andy/Baldy - feed me
First, I'd like to say that I ended up going strictly ETL/CS for a while, and have backed off to the 90/10 rule from Dr. Fuhrman (I still eat french fries too often). Also, I had started going to the gym 3 times a week and then doing another heavy duty workout once a week. Now, I'm down to the once a week (sometimes every… -
Re: New to this
Thanks for all of the replies. I should have been a little more clear about my setup. I used the 28-135 for all of these. I had ordered a set of Kenko ext. tubes but somehow things got mixed up and realized they were for a Minolta after they didn't fit my camera. I got the tubes RMA'd and should have the Canon ones next… -
Re: 1st Bridal shoot
A couple of things come to mind:* with previous posts about the elegant feel of these. Of course, the bride has a lot to do with that! * :cry Your images are too tightly cropped. These appear to be 2:3 ratio. With no extra room to crop, your clients are limited in the sizes and aspect ratio in which they can purchase… -
Re: sting and joss stone in concert
Good gosh, I am jealous! And I can't understand Sting, as "old" as he might be, so I wouldn't have gone. But "to go", it looks like a blast! A total blast! I love your shots, the first ones of the 18 yr old, the one with all the energy. And the last one, the blk and white of Sting, good lord, that is worth everything. Jail… -
Re: Why is it always nikon vs canon?
ETA: A LOT of people are jumping to the Sony flagship cameras at the moment - their sensors are supposed to be out of this world. They may well become the "third" brand in portraits from what I'm hearing/reading at the moment........... Why iso 3200? What are you shooting that needs that kind of ISO? Most cameras, even… -
Re: Processing Image Thumbnail never goes away
I'm probably not the only one, but I'm the only one that cares enough about SM to passionately let you know. Others would probably leave and find another solution that works. Remember that the feedback you're getting from the helpdesk and dgrin is probably 1/10th of the actual feedback out there. That's my experience… -
More Labor Day Fun
I went to Buffalo Indiana this weekend with my cousins to their summer house on the river (can't remember the name doh). I really only see them on holidays and family birthdays so it was great to see them. I was especially glad to see the little ones, Zoe and Ashley who are 4 and 7. Hopefully I have learned a little from… -
FS: Nikon D3
I have a D3 in mint+ condition with 5836 shots (checked via Opanda). It’s a USA model with box and all that's originally included therein. The only item I can’t provide is the freebie copy of NX. I will provide a copy of the sales receipt ( 3/14/08 from authorized Nikon dealer J&R in NYC). I'm the second owner of this D3.…
