Shootout 08......IR
Finally made it back from the Shootout and am painstakingly making my way through the several hundred IR photos I took (along with several hundred color ones as well) along the way. My wife, Liz, and I made our way up from Vegas a couple days prior to the shootout and then headed up to Salt Lake City after. This being our… -

Re: 50-500mm 'Big Mama' lens
Analysis Paralysis is debilitating... Renting can be good... For me, the tad bit more weight of my Bigma isn't much of an issue either. I've had good success with mostly hand held imaging and using my monopod to either act as a moment arm (legs retracted) or easily dropping the legs when the opportunity presents itself. On… -

Well the time is 11:30 a.m. the sun is going to attempt to rise but it will not make it above the horizon. We have dusk for about 2 hours per day- it is light enough to read a newspaper outside-. On one forum one woman said. Now I know your lying because we all know - six months darkness & six months of light you said it… -
Re: 8x DVD burner
I love my Pioneer A107 8X DVD Burner. I paid $89 for it at Newegg. Now it's $84 :cry. I personally have full faith in DVD's. The data layer is sandwiched between 2 chunky plastic layers. CD's aren't built this way. The top side (where you write) is also the data layer and any damage at that level will result in… -
Re: Portable lighting: advice needed
thanks! I looked at it, but I'm still confused... Too many unknowns, too many variables.. I guess I need to made my pick (prolly a rather cheap one), start using it and then drift towards a better solution.. just like with the cameras.. Here's what I'm looking at right now: B&H # IMQ12002K 1200 2-light quarts kit $279:* 2… -

Re: unedited proof galleries - how many do this?
Good topic. I too was wondering how and how many images presented. I had a session for a young lady, and i took about 100 pictures. I dumped about 40 of them, and did light edit for the proof gallery. I posted pictures that i thought were good, and OK. Originally, i was gonna dump those OK images, but decided to show them.…
