Re: Mozilla
I've been using Firebird/Firefox for a while now. I haven't had any real problems. The configurations I work with: * Firefox + Zone Alarm on XP Pro * Firefox on Win 98 SE * Firefox on XP Home * Firebird on Win 2k One site that is always buggy is gamespot.com. I get a strange strobing effect whenever a page is loading. As… -
Re: Rentglass.com
Thanks for the site. Too bad 98% of ths stuff is unavailabe. Hopefully they will soon get more lenses as the site grows. I'd like to rent of of those fisheye lenses. Quick question. When they say "Your rental period begins when your order is delivered by the shipper and ends when the shipper receives your return package."… -
Re: Flash advice
Yes. Somehow you'll have to tell it to fire. The hat trick with the Sb6,8,9 is, they can aid you in TTL on/off cam ...TTL can be hugely useful if you need the light to be correct, bright and if it is changing fast~ ah..and the rub..no trigger needed! ps: some folks have trouble with the SB's going far, but mine, outside… -
Re: Withdrawn: New 70-200 2.8 IS MKII
Keep it and get a 2x Teleconverter. Then you'll have the killer 70-200, and a great 140-400 f/5.6. The word on the street is that the 70-200/2.8 Mark II is excellent with the TC's, much better than the previous version. Could also get a 1.4x TC down the road for a great 98-280 f/4. I recently sold my 100-400L to buy the… -
Re: icc profiles
Hi Jrky, I think the most important thing for displaying your photos on the web or getting them printed by consumer labs like Costco, is to make sure they are in the sRGB color space. Here's why. Many pro labs know how to handle your file if it's in another color space like Adobe 98, and Safari and Firefox browsers do too… -
Re: Destin, Florida
Very nice series. One of my most favorite locations. We hit Destin two to three times a year. If interest in some uninhabited beaches, head east on Hwy 98. Just past the Donut Hole is Hwy 30A. Turn right and right down the road a couple of blocks is Topsal Hill Preserve, a Florida State Park. Take the tram down to the… -
Re: HEADS UP: New Release, March 17, 2008. Slideshow Issues?
Works for me! (About 98%) Alright, everything seems to be working! Way to go, guys! My button is now clickable in IE. Sometimes the first image is a small thumb. The first time through, not all the images came up in the thumb scroller, but I scrolled through again and then they all showed. A little slow/draggy, but I am… -
Re: Customer cropping issue
Yeah, set any gallery with photos for sale to proof delay. 98% of the time I don't change anything, but when I do need to it is invaluable. I just put 7 days in, but usually I clear them within 24 hours. I have it set to 7 in case I was away from internet access for an extended period. Easier to set to 7, than to set to 2,… -
Re: Downloading smugmug pictures, maintaining keywords & caption
Hi Rich, Thank you so much. The version that I just found* is not working in Windows Vista. It is giving C++ Runtime Library Error. The funny thing is, the error only occurs when you put correct e-mail and password. With incorrect data, it just doesn't give any error or attempt to login. I wonder if it would work in… -
Re: PC died, 99.8% sure I'll choose MAC - advice me
This. I'll never understand the price differential of MACs (especially now that they're running similar guts). Spend less on something that'll do the same job and the extra 2k on glass EDIT: Full disclaimer. I've never bought a computer in my life. I've been building them since I was 9. Dos was home for me. Windows 7 IS…
