Re: Any Cheat sheets available for Exposures?
Hi Viper I posted this a while back on a different thread. I'll repost it here What is aperture? Aperture is the relative size of how wide the lens opens when the shutter is released. It is one of the factors that determines how much light enters the camera. The other factor is shutter speed, which determines how long the… -
Re: Mma
I can't say I haven't made decent money with MMA- I've had $300, $500, even a $700 payday (through a series of sales from one event)- above and beyond what any of the other photographers in my area have made. But those days are gone. Even though my skills have much improved since the early days and I have more exposure… -
Re: Add/uploaded photos not appearing
Andy, I have to chime in on this topic as recently I'm experiencing similar difficulties. When doing batches with S*E roughly a 1/10 of pictures does not make it - S*E detects them and I've to reupload them. I can even deliver you exact times (all GMT+1) - all of these images failed in my last 2 batches (it even happens on… -
Re: is this shot salvageable?
welcome, sascha! hey everybody, this is sascha, and he kicks butt in the photography deptartment. you'll love his shots of the american west! sascha, here's my take. not very good, unfortunately, as the methods to bring up the exposure really introduce a lot of noise here's the logfile showing what i tried: 2004-10-14… -
Re: Rolex Kentucky 3 day event - advice?
:) I was there shooting for Equestrian Services, LLC and David and Karen O'Connor. Since I helped set-up their media launch at the Primedia tent last year they were very helpful :) I was shooting mostly for the Karen who was riding and David, who was coaching the Canadian team. Also, you can get right up close and (almost)… -

The lady had designs and we picked the design and the colors to go in each area. This is the one I ordered. In the afternoon we went to the coach museum (not very good… -

Re: Trans-Caucasus
I wandered around a bit on some relatively easy trails when I was in the GNP with the other dgrinners a few years back, but I had never ascended a mountain of the type one finds in the Caucasus. Keep in mind that by ascent I in no way mean mountain climbing as in alpinism- this is highly technical and rather dangerous, and… -
My Bike Trip To The Badlands and The Black Hills
I'm a newbie to Digital Grin and Smug Mug. I've been struggling a bit to find my way around the place and when I came upon this area I thought it'd be a good place for me to start getting my feet wet. This Travelogue is about a bike trip I made this past summer to the Badlands and the Black Hills. Not quite as exotic a… -
Thelma and Louise, Bonnie and Clyde
I love traveling and what can be better than taking a road-trip, with an awesome friend? I've recently been to the United States and did some non-work related traveling; a road-trip! I had the pleasure of having the very lovely and talented Schmoo as my road-trip partner :clap It started with the Dgrin Shootout, actually.…
