Re: SmuggLr - for flickr, Phanfare, PicasaWeb, PhotoSite & Zenfolio refugees
smuugLr transfer problems Hi, new member - here. "photofur" on SmugMug. Used SmuggLr to transfer my Flickr " sets " over to SmugMug. The read out of progress on SmuggLr software ( FIREFOX) got hung up just near end. I have maybe 162 FLICkR "sets" and 5,032 photos. My recolection is that Smugglr was reading it as more… -
Mini Challenge #162 - Overgrown
Welcome to Mini-Challenge #162! The theme of this challenge will be Overgrown. Just about every man-made endeavor gets reclaimed by the forces of nature at some point. Lets see that process happening. Personally, I like to photograph ruins, but this could be almost anything, an old truck, gardens, a barn, a ghost town, or… -
Mini-Challange #162 Overgrown - Results
Well, I have reviewed these entries many times over. I realized pretty quickly that this was a fairly narrow-focus, and a somewhat unusual subject, but I was still very impressed with the quality of photos posted - Vielen Dank to all who entered! I started with a Top 20, cut it to 15 , then to 12, then to 9, and finally to… -

Re: Schlieren photography help please!
Schlieren Photography I found my reference materials. 1. The textbook "Elements of Gas Dynamics" by Liepmann & Roshko, Wiley, 1965. This was the standard text for Aeronautical Engineers for a long time. Pages 157 to 162 is on Schlieren systems. There might be a copy in your school library. 2. A pamphlet "Schlieren… -
Re: E-sessions and the idiots who shoot them (me)
Actually it worked out great.. we tracked everything with this special... we sold 162 of them in ONE DAY. They are 1-hour shoots at a park. We've shot 87 of them so far, had only this one problem, and our after-sale average is $134 (some bought nothing, others bought packages up to $400+ in size)... we paid a 50%… -
Re: New! SmugMug "Stretchy" -- Help, Questions here
Fair enough. Apparently the stretchy calculations don't pay any attention to the height of either a custom header or a long description. In a gallery like this one of yours that I picked at random, you have a header that takes up 174 pixels and a three line description that takes up another 54 pixels and a somewhat weirdly… -
Re: Comments please
The following are comments and first thoughts as I went through the gallery. I didn't comment on every photo - just the ones that struck me one way or another. The comments may come across as more than just a little harsh - sorry. I wanted to give as much feedback as I could without taking a day to word-smith the C&C. So,…
