Re: Photographing Track & Field!
I was hoping a Canon shooter would reply to your post. Not being familiar with Canon gear, I don't know whether you are using a full frame or crop body, how fast the lenses are, what to expect from the focusing system, etc. Having said that, my suggestion is to set the focus system for continuous focusing on a single focus… -
Re: Long Time No See and a Question :)
To be 100% clear, with the exception of mall "glamour" (nothing can salvage that look) I wasn't saying any of the styles under discussion are good or bad per se. They just ARE... and, just like in clothes/cars/music etc... trends come and go. And come and go. And are most definitely different in different countries. Those… -
Re: Back in Southeast Asia Again - (Bandwidth Warning)
Thanks Ian! The Journeys forum seems to have quieted down some of late, but maybe we can change that! :D Emily and her boyfriend Eric headed back to the states a few days after leaving us on the beach in Tonsai. Emily's trip was a bit short as she has been planning for months to participate in the Scott Firefighter… -
Re: Projet Chalenge and Question
Which is exactly where I thought the project would go from the outset. Big companies hire people to do the whole project where catalouges are involved. You can see their names printed in the front of the catalouges and if you look them up they have their own photographic departments that so this stuff all day every day.… -
Re: Decent Lighting / Low Cost for Intimate Model Shoot
Ok thanks to some more research and your advice, I am in the home stretch, thank god... so much for the "research/learn 20% of your time and do 80%".... at this rate I'll be "doing" for the next 30 years to catch up! I do understand the eBay thing, I have been good about 90% there, but then again I have only bought stuff… -
Re: DXO's rating for the D800 sensor
As you said earlier, in many cases the 16mm will not be wide enough, I am leaning on the 14-24mm based on the following: 1. I have researched just about every review that I could find online the last few weeks. Numerous websites, not just one. Considering that this lens is going on a D800, I am NOT impressed with the… -
Re: New and would love some cc
I agree with Hackbone here. Have you ever thought about joining the PPA? There is a ton of information to be had on the site, and you can get a ton of business, legal, technique, and marketing advice. If you are planning on running it out of your house you would want to make sure that the price you charge covers… -
Re: Can I embed a video?
Hi David, I have a sticky thread in the customization forum here - http://www.dgrin.com/showthread.php?t=212038 I want to embed the into video to a customization course I just published on Udemy. The course can be found here - http://www.udemy.com/create-a-gorgeous-photography-site-with-smugmug-in-90-mins/ I'll try to… -
Like new Averatec AV3360-EH1 512MB 80GB 12.1" DVD +/-RW with WiFi (IEEE 802.11g)
I bought this laptop in April in preparation for a two-week vacation to France so I could download photos and process them with Photoshop CS2. It met my needs for that splendidly but has just been sitting and collecting dust since I got back. Running time on the battery is a little over 3 hrs although I'm sure that… -
