Re: New wedding porfolio needs culling....
14, 15 , 22, 25, 41, 48, 63, 71, 74, 86, 108 By far the majority are very strong and beautiful, so this is just my objective, humble opinion: Fourteen is redundant of number 2, which is the stronger composition. The shadows on the bride's face in 15 make it look like a snapshot by a guest, and that shot is not up to par… -
Re: New PC advice: Sell me a mac..
I'm amazed by how slow PCs are with Photoshop, frankly. For how well they benchmark on some tasks, they are very slow with Photoshop. For example, on this: Using Photoshop CS or CS2 (or PS 7) ================================================== 1.) Download the test image from http://www.quicklance.com/test.jpg 2.) Save it… -
Re: 7D2 High School Football
Thanks Ziggy. I had anti-flicker off. Anti-flicker causes the fps rate to drop precipitously, of course because the camera has to time its shots with the flicker of the lights. I'd rather have 10fps and deal with flicker in post. Although I didn't seem to have to do that... These stadium lights must be pretty good. No… -
Re: The Canon 1dx
Thanks Jay. To elaborate, it appears that this is the source for that statement: http://www.birdphotographers.net/forums/showthread.php/90630-Canon-EOS-1D-X-Digital-Camera-Body-Details?p=731924&viewfull=1#post731924 The full Chuck Westfall comment is; "AF is unavailable on the EOS-1D X if the maximum aperture reported to… -
Evening . . .
Not real good pictures, I was out in the yard as the sun was setting with my 50mm f/1.8, and I though these were interesting, if not real good. These are displayed in the order they were taken, in rapidly fading light. This first one is an unknown bird, although I think it is a Western Wood-Pewee. Hw went back and forth… -

10 day's in the cascades.
So after a dismal week of chasing Elk in the mountains I spent my free time getting to learn my new D3 by cruising around 80 miles a day thru the mountains on my KLR looking for some interesting things to shoot. Here are a few I really like and was quite pleased with the results. My wife is tired of me showing her my… -
A Rustic Wedding at Allaire - Ryan + Kait
I've known Ryan since high school, and he's such a great dude. He met Kait in high school, and they have been dating ever since. Did I mention they went viral on the internet the day after their wedding? Ryan's wedding gift to his wife was a kiss from Steve Gerrard. What a guy! Shooting this wedding was extremely important… -
Re: MacDaddy 3.0.3
(I actually replied via PM, but I figured it'd be worth posting in case anyone else might find it useful.) With David's help I was able to locate the problem. It appears the offending lines in the Pictures/iPhoto Library/AlbumData.xml looked like the following: <string>12 <key>106</key> <string>2007 <key>385</key>… -
