Re: Inkjet vs emulsion printers
Sounds as if you are printing from home. If you are printing from home, and printing from a color-aware application such as PSCS, then as long as you have the color spaces consistent then you won't notice a difference. However, if you have a file in Adobe98, and ship it off to a sRGB print provider, your colors will be… -
Re: Your favorite picture of 2009
I'll play along! In our part of Oregon, we don't have many days over 100 degrees F in the summer. One week this summer, we were over 100 for multiple days, and one day it reached 107! A friend invited my son and me to go to the beach with her and her kids that day. The beach was about 30 degrees cooler and very foggy,… -

Bolsa Chica Wetlands Restoration
Were any of you lucky enough to "see the sea" return to the Bolsa Chica Wetlands? Must have been awesome! I feel so out of it not to have known this was happening. A truly historic moment to restore oil fields back to the wetlands they once were 107 years later. I drive by there every Sunday, but was convinced this was all… -
Re: Crazy Horse
Sorry, I wasn't thinking The Seminole resistance to removal to a reservation brought about the Second Seminole War. It started on December 28,1835, when a column of 107 soldiers led by Major Dade were ambushed by the Seminole warriors at the Dade Battle in Sumter County, Florida. It was the first reenactment I had ever… -
Youth Escaped
Just had an amazing three days of taking pics. Amazing weather. Wonderful skies. Kids at the beach. Small-town carnival at night. As such, processing some pics tonight, I realize I had several possible entries for both the #107 challenge and, if I get lucky with #106, the MC as well. I'd love to hear which ones work for… -
Re: >> dgrin challenge 14: who are the people in your neighborhood? <<
' Ziggy ' ...ziggy has lived in this very spot for the 9 years that i have seen him. People say he has been there longer. When it pours rain he pulls the bubble wrap plastic sheet over himself & he still sits there in summer when the the temperature hits 42 c (107 f). He has money & family & doesn't drink, just chooses… -
Re: To fisheye or just go UWA.
Thanks everyone. I'm still on the fence. But the Tokina 12-24 is starting to lag behind. The statement above really interests me. If there is software (that would work on a mac) that can remove the "funkyness" of a distorted shot, i.e. a fisheye shot, wouldn't the fisheye be the more useful lens? I haven't heard about this… -
