Re: I am thrilled with the 5D3
The high megapixel sensors are not a big challenge technically these days or a huge cost adder, assuming someone wants to make some quantities. They are just not very useful. We will see how the market reacts to a 41 megapixel phone camera and the new Nikon benchmark. I hope people are savvy enough to value an all-round… -

Sarah and Cort had a winter wonderland wedding in Philly a few weeks ago (not very hard this winter). She insisted we still go outside in the 20 degree temps and snow. It was worth it. A while ago, I sent out a call for photographers to help us take photos of the fans for the Sacramento River Cats games. Postal Duties.
A different robin, on the other side of the woods close to the feeding stations, this one sat on one of the wooden posts. I quite like the room I have (deliberately) left for the bird to look into, I think it's a nice pose and not really too small in the picture to be lost. WDYT? Re: Weekly Assignment #83: Fireworks!
I had the camera on my Manfrotto tripod/ballhead combo, used manual mode, and had the shutter in bulb, but since I don't have a cable release I had to be very very steady holding that button down :D It was my first time shooting fireworks and the location kinda sucked, but I was just there to have a good time and try to… -
Re: Recommendations for Yosemite Trip
Right, that rainbow picture was shot from Tunnel View, which is a vista point at the eastern end of the Wawona Tunnel along Route 41. There's a fair-sized parking lot there and a low stone wall along the rim, below which the land drops down into Yosemite Valley. The Half Dome sunset sequence was shot from a large meadow,… -
Re: b&w film?
I want to tell you that either King Soopers made a mistake, or they have the best deal going on, but I took in 4 rolls of film, got some excellent scans on a CD, (NO PRINTS) and only had to pay $2. I'm pretty sure they are not really sure what to do with my NO PRINTS request, and as there is no price set for developing,… -
