Re: >>> DSS Challenge #5 (Primary or Pastel): Feedback Thread
Page 6.... 51 - cheech4487 - love on the side - Another flower, and this is one of the strong entries. Very little to crticize, nice composition and technical execution. There are two others I think I like better, but it is so hard, a number of strong flower entries. Good job. 52 - Tentacion - Fierce - My is that some red… -
Re: D7000 announcement. Is it finally time to upgrade my D200?
I disagree. One could say that with the D90 specs a D300/D300s didn't make much sense, either. And yet I have both and MUCH prefer using the D300. It's not always just about specs. There are a couple of key things that I think will differentiate the D400 from the D7000. If they simply just dropped this new 16.2 MP sensor… -
Re: D700 WB for fluorescent lighting
Hey folks, Just following up on how it went. I ended up using flash the whole time. I bought a bolt power pack so my flash could keep up. It works really well. I liked that I could mount it to the bottom of my camera. The only problem is it is just a little too long when I put it on properly and it messed up my ability to… -
Re: >>> LPS#20 - Feedback Thread
51 – Trust Perfectly on theme with good lighting and composition. I just preferred a different post-processing. I would have to compare this shot to 'Strong Direction', and I must say that I preferred that one better (that's just me... other people might see it differently). However, this is a good idea with good execution… -
Silcon Valley to Colorado and points in between.
Across the hall (that's ADVrider), several riders conspired to put on a rally of sorts in Buena Vista, Colorado. Buena Vista (and it's pronounced "Boo-na" according to the locals) is South West of Denver. Called the "West Fest", it was held the last weekend in June. I took the week before and the week afterward as vacation… -
No Images - Opinion
Interesting point of view Here's a list of tips, advice, rules and just things to know about photography from Eric Kim, a street photographer who also holds photography workshop classes. Here's the full list: 1. Just because someone has an expensive camera doesn't mean that they're a good photographer. 2. Always shoot in… -
Re: Travel camera
I'll break out one of my secrets; I recently started acquiring Sony "E" series bodies and lenses. Looking at prices, sizes (both body and complete systems) and capabilities (looking at mostly high-ISO and dynamic range in APS-C sized sensor bodies), I finally took the plunge last November, 2014. I could not be more pleased… -
The Fast and the Furious - Laos Boat Racing
I arrived at the village of Tha Phra as the sun was going down. It was a normal Tuesday night for the men and boys of Tha Phra, they showed up on their motor bikes after a long day, they chatted amongst themselves, changed into their boating clothes, and played wicket ball. Wicket ball is a Laos game which is a mix of… -

Re: need some help! 15 people indoors!
Elaine, You should definately call Heather if you will be anywhere remotely near her home town. I would feel a little put out if one of you dgrinners were here...near Baton Rouge...and didn't at least try to get together for a cup of coffee. As for the photo.... With the 580 mounted in the shoe, it is supposed to give…
