Re: Buying a new Flash
Have you considered the Canon CP-E3 battery pack? With 8 AA Lithium batteries it will run for days, is small, lightweight, and will mount to a camera base or a bracket. Not that expensive either at $139. And it plugs right into a 580ex without any adapters. Correction as an addendum ( courtesy of rosselliott). Should be… -
Re: Digital Printer for Photobooth
I found a couple of printers that appear to do the job. They're desktop inkjet printers that have trays for 4x6 sheets that do lab quality prints. They're the HP photosmart and HP officejet printers. The photosmart is $139 and the officejet is $189. Anybody familiar with these printers or have any comments on just using a… -

Re: Nikkor 70-200 f/4
Canon's own tripod collar for their 70-200/4 is $139. And yeah, until the 70-200/2.8 Mark II came along, the f/4L IS was their best zoom. Re: 1ds Mkiii
it's the other way around...the 1Ds is the higher model of the two with FF and much higher FPS. edit...i take that back...the 1D is indeed higher FPS. my mistake! i'm also curious how the OP purchased a flagship model without knowing the differences? no disrespect intended, but if you're spending $7k on a camera body...… -
Re: New Event computer Setup
[COLOR="rgb(46, 139, 87)"]Best of luck with this week-end's event. Sounds like you are going gang busters. Pleasant surprise - have had three portrait shoots as a result of my prior work at horse shows (not horse pictures, I might add - family shoots). Apparently my prepaid model is working in an unexpected way - it has… -
Re: Help SmugMug make a key decision
I have implemented a new version of the resizing code for journal galleries. See: http://www.dgrin.com/showpost.php?p=318417&postcount=139 It uses the standard smugmug sizes where possible and allows users access to custom sizes. I expect that at least some people will use it, so it's one of the examples Don asked for.… -
Re: 20D broken, using 1V for time being - Manual!?
Bernardo, Check the PDFs here for basic information on the Canon 1V: http://www.usa.canon.com/consumer/controller?act=ModelInfoAct&tabact=DownloadDetailTabAct&fcategoryid=313&modelid=7244 The Canon 1D is based upon, and the controls are very similar to, the Canon 1V, so you might look at the published documentation for the… -
