Re: do you ask?
I too am a shy (introverted) person by nature......but with camera in hand that seems to change......or if I am meeting a few people for a shootout....if I study a person and see that I like their image enuff to want to take it....I will ask and if I am turned down ( but they hesitate by giving it a moment or 2 of… -
Re: Mif
Ohhh Don't make me Tell You Lets see.......its 19 C in our office thats about 70F and we sit there with our uniforms, and cardigans, and blazers, and coats on Sometimes I put my fingerless gloves on, cause they can't seem to control the temperature in the area where the Typing Pool is.....if they turn our section up the… -
Re: formal/family groupings thread
Yes, actually I do have thoughts on this and actually think about this while shooting in front of my clients. 1. I always try to mix it up. For example, sometimes I'll shout out "I'm an idiot, I cut Frank's head off, we need to do this again." However, do this too many times and they WILL begin to think you're an idiot,… -
Re: Some street shots in Colombia
B.D., Thank you for your critique! I kinda wish I had shown more pics now, it's not everyday that I have an established pro like yourself look at AND give feedback on my photos! I am taking notes on your suggestions and comments. I do have a lot more photos from this trip to Colombia in the same gallery, and I feel like… -
Re: Digital Only Wedding Packages
I hate to jump into this and sound all confrontational, Matt, because you've brought up some really salient points and I agree with you on a number of things, but... If society as a whole has changed, and your industry hasn't, then it's the industry who need to start adapting its business model to the demands of the… -
Re: i fell into the river with my DSL what should I do?
If you are in a tropical climate, I would try to find an air conditioned ( dry air ) environment to let your equipment dry in. Some warm, dry air wouldn't hurt either. ( Hair dryer from a safe distance - just warm - NOT HOT ) If the lens is completely fogged after 12-24 hours, it will definitely need to be serviced,… -
Re: Slow-Shutter Portrait Tricks
Hi Kelly. Thanks for the feedback. Glad you enjoyed them. It was a fun experimental shoot, and as a bonus - got the family involved and interested. As to your PW question. Certainly many people are pleased with the money they saved on the Cactus system and similar triggers, and have found them to be reliable enough.… -
Re: Hobbyist Photographer Ethical Dilemma
Thanks for the reply. I charge mainly to stop people from constantly asking me to come to specific games, for digital photos, etc. for free. Before I locked originals, people would download about 6 gig of files for *one* game, and this was for adult hockey with very few people knowing about the gallery. If I'm there for… -
Re: deep convolution image software does resizing
One other thing that makes this handy - other than just being able to enlarge a lot of image types - is what happens when you combine this with other neural net programs. The fastest one I know of right now is Prisma - http://prisma-ai.com/ which is an ios/android cloud app that, while it doesn't let you use custom style… -
