Re: New D90 test shots
yeah I don't know what was going on with my colors. I did do a little pp but not a lot with the coloring, i probably should have. I know at one point when shooting i realized I had the wb in "shade" mode and then another point (if this matters) I was in "portrait setting." On the first one, we were being hit directly by… -
Re: Photos Slow to Load
TEST 1: ** Please note 2 of these tests would simply not finish. One got stuck on 18% and the other on 9%. It seems that the kbps keeps going down and down to about 60 and then keeps trickling down. I'm going to let one of these tests keep running but im not sure if it will ever finish. This is similar to what I experience… -
Re: WTB Feisol or gitzo tripod
Benro quality might SURPRISE you Heh Jim, By all means, follow your own preferences and buy what you want, but in case there's any news here for anyone else -- Your point about "Chinese clones" is puzzling, esp when you mention Feisol (which is a Taiwanese clone). Have you ever seen or used a Benro tripod? You might be… -
Re: Just a few pics...
late to this thread andysson, you're lucky to have had even one car by your very young age, used or not. When I was a teenager, we had to steal car parts at 3am from the dumpsters behind auto parts stores and foreign car dealers. Most of the parts were rusty or defective. Yet, we managed to cobble together working albeit… -
Re: PhotoPost: January Waves at Steamers...
I am compassonate 'gus, but I am also a realist and aware that really good tools are a joy to use, and lesser tools may not be such a joy. They may be adequate. Tamron makes a 300mm f2.8 for $2999 with a $500 rebate, but would you really prefer that to the white lens from Canon? The Canon 300 F2.8 IS is what Andy Wheeler… -
Re: Value of my photographs
Hi- Learned a lot last year about selling photgraphs. 1. I took a panoramic of the flooding in Annapolis MD after Hurricane Isabel. I hung it in a coffee shop, put a price tag of $45 on it It flew off the shelves, so I immediatley raised the price to $70. Why $70? Because it's what i would pay for it. Well, that price… -

Re: Memory card "safety" and rotation...
Currently using 4Gb and 8Gb cards, all high-end/name-brand. Looking to upgrade with several 16Gb cards and leaving the older ones in the backup cameras. I don't have *old* and *new* piles because I tend to buy new cards about every 18 months and so far I've been giving the old ones away to hobby shooters I've shot with… -
Re: Gadget Bag Advice
I have the Lowepro 3 AW. I ALWAYS carry my D50 w/ the 18-55 lens and the 70-300mm f/4-5.6. There is plenty of room for another small lens (the same size or smaller than the 70-300mm. The back zipper can easily fit 5-6 CDs the side mesh pockets can fit smaller water bottles (or if you don't have a 3rd or 4th lens you could…
