Lion pride stalking, chasing and taking down a Puku antelope.
Here's that same Nsefu lion pride (check out last months posting here: (http://www.dgrin.com/showthread.php?t=211564) some 8 days later on another beach raid along the Luangwa River. *Please note that these images whilst not of super high quality are all about telling & documenting a story. The light was fading fast and it… -

Think Pink - Winning, Losing, Everything in between....
Last night our local high school celebrated homecoming. The football team lost a game last year in the state semi-finals that kept them a single win away from competing for that title in the Superdome. This year, they are 7 and 1 and undefeated in district play. They have shell-shocked nearly every team we have played,… -
FS: Acer Aspire 4520 laptop
I have a very nice Acer Aspire Laptop I need to sell. I bought this and a tablet to see which I would like better, and I am going to keep the tablet. It was purchased right around new year's from a major retailer. Great little laptop for the money, just decided my tablet was more useful for what I need. In Ex+ condition.… -
General aviation in all it's flavours
Boy did we have a colourful day at a small local airport a little while ago. :D We were there to launch a couple of model rockets and fly some park flyers. When we got there a motor glider was doing touch-and-gos on the main runway - nothing special about that. So we pulled out the gear: That tiny litte plane Paula is… -
Wonders of light(ing:-)
Last night I got another opportunity to shoot middle school band concert. Large modern gym hall provided enough light to see the players, but all my prior attempts to shoot similar events there (with Sony 828) never brought any spectacular results. This time I decided not to take any chances. Not only I was using my 20D… -

A few months ago, I decided to concentrate on portraits. Since then I have collected some I really like. I've posted a few of these here before, but I wanted to pull together my favorites since the beginning of April. Please comment and critique. Negative as well as positive feedback is welcome. Lorna Feijoo Practices for… -
Belomo/Peleng 8mm Circular Fisheye
Last week I bought a Peleng 8mm f/3.5 Circular Fisheye lens from a dealer on eBay (username "opticparadise"). I ordered it on Monday, immediately paid for it using PayPal, and it arrived on Thursday, USPS Priority Mail -- pretty decent service. Packing was good too. Interestingly, the photos I've seen of this lens online… -
First 1920x1080 24p video from my hv20 - Oklahoma Storm Chase Timelapse
So, I've been pulling my hair out for the past two weeks trying to create true 24p 1920x1080 video from my Canon hv-20 NTSC camera. I have some great footage from a beautiful supercell on July 12th in Western OK shot in the pf24 hdv mode of the camera. I normally process my movies in Windows Movie Maker, but I just wasn't… -
Re: canon 85mm 1.8 and canon 135mm f2
I agree with Craig Primes are great if you need to shoot available light. IMO, the operative word here is "need". If you are allowed, flash, creatively used will do a better job in most venues. Unfortunately many photographer's avoid the use of flash because they are not capable of using flash creatively. See Neil van…
