SOLD: Nikon 17-55mm f/2.8 DX (very good condition!)
Hi! I'm selling this lens (obviously). It is about a year old and in very good condition as I've really taken good care of it (non-smoking home, always in my LowePro case when not in use). Here are the details: * There are no scratches, haze, or fungus on the lens itself. * There does not appear to be much wear on the body… -
Re: Does changeAlbumSettings work ?
Let's try this again. I POSTed this rpc call from a test page I made through a PEAR xlp-rpc client. Looks clean to me. I get an empty string from smugmug and no error but it doesn't update the album settings. Has anyone else ever made changeAlbumSettings work ? [PHP] <?xml version="1.0"?> <methodCall>… -
Re: Dgrin mini-meetup: Summer in the Cascades
Hey guys. I've been active at a few other photo forums in the past (mainly POTN recently), and I recently stumbled upon this site. I figured it's time I finally post here. I've been looking through all these photos in the recent Rainier meetup threads, and I'm impressed! Great work, everyone! I'd love to get out and shoot… -
Re: mostly nude portraits
I found this one: http://www.dcmag.co.uk/news/article/mps/UAN/339/v/1/sp/328765336475364149534 which is brief but has some good tips. I note that their comment about reflector stands being expensive may be a matter of opinion; I literally just bought several stands at Calumet in Cambridge MA (which I mention because you're… -

Re: Steal their ideas...
I may have to try smugbrowser, I just uploaded 3000+images with send to smugmug and it took a little over 4 days. On SM's part it would make sense to have smaller images load up..saving on there space. Out of the 5000 hockey photos loaded I have only sold 120 so the rest are taking up space. At work we just went through… -
Re: Help choose a monitor
Acer AL2416Bsd vs. Samsung 245BW Those are both monitors that use a TN panel. If you are using your monitor mostly for photo editing I'd stay away from them. Especially with the larger panel sizes you are likely to notice a gamma/contrast/colour shift from the top of the screen through to the bottom. You may even see an… -

Re: To SLR or not to SLR, that is the question
I think Gary has said it well. If I were going on a long trip hitting several continents where all the gear could be rolled along behind me in a cart, carried in a car or boat, or occasionally backpacked, then I would take my dSLR system. However, as I've said before, my number-one-always-near-at-hand camera is my Sony…
