A week in Madrid (warning - lots of pictures!)
In November of this past year we took a somewhat spur-of-the-moment trip to Madrid. It didn't take us very long to fall in love with this magnificent city. I apologize in advance - this isn't a particularly "artistic" set of photos, just my impressions of our few days. We arrived on Saturday afternoon and after checking in… -
The Samich Run
This is the 5th annual Sammich Run. It was an idea I had come up with years back. Basically I wanted to get my friends to skate through San Francisco with me. But a lot of them stopped skating for one reason or another. Also I wanted to do something to help the homeless whenever I went and skated through San Francisco.… -
DSS 41 first challenge C&C?
Hi, I'm new here, got my D5000 for Christmas. I'm not set up very well for the kinds of shots I've seen so far (I had the idea of the "first date" too, maybe like going to work in the morning, or pairs of slippers on the white lambswool rug, or something similar). What I ended up shooting was an "as-is" arrangement of the… -
Re: Pondering a 7D, but....
Absolutely true. Most folks concerned about noise are looking at images much, much larger than the pixels they might see in a print. Most monitors display at around 100 dpi, but we tend to use 300 dpi printers and such. That means if you view the image at 100 percent on the monitor from a 7D image it's like looking at a… -
Re: Sigma 50-500mm Bigma (v. 70-300)
EXIF=Details of Image Exposure Bob-- In looking at your linked images on your SmugMug pages, the photo info popup details the 70-300 image was exposed on 8/22 and the Bigma on 9/3. Thus, its not unexpected that the exposures would have differences... Digital camera images are usually exposed with embedded information… -

Re: Does changeAlbumSettings work ?
OK matt has be beating the crap out of every other feature and is left with one huge hole and that is the changeAlbumSettings call. Hmm speaking in third person is a sign of madness isn't it ? Anyway I am getting back to it. I was avoiding it for a while because the RPC calls are done from some very convenient java code… -
