Re: wearing a flash battery pack
Service photo says I'm one of only 3 people who seem to have this issue. If you are using your Turbos with speed lights you might have done it but never had it affect performance. Overcharging is possible, there is no trickle on turbos and the charger is not "smart". QTM defines it as charging longer than 72 hours I… -
Re: hua shan, China's holy white mountain
HuaShan is 120 kilometers (about 75 miles) east of Xi'an City, Shaanxi Province. It is described as 'The Number One Precipitous Mountain under Heaven'. It is one of the five sacred mountains of China. From a distance the five peaks of Huashan appear to form the shape of a 'flower' (hua in Chinese), hence the name 'Huashan'… -
Re: The Portuguese - Vietnam, 2 street shots
Hello Gary, I am posting these photos because of the exposition I talked about. They are old and have been photoshoped before, say 2 years ago, just after they were shot. Then I was a lurk in photoshop - I still am but a milimeter less - and I did what I knew. I wouldn't like to treat them again as quality goes down and… -
Re: Steal their ideas...
I may have to try smugbrowser, I just uploaded 3000+images with send to smugmug and it took a little over 4 days. On SM's part it would make sense to have smaller images load up..saving on there space. Out of the 5000 hockey photos loaded I have only sold 120 so the rest are taking up space. At work we just went through… -
Re: studio printing vs. pro-lab??? A million and 1 questions.
YOur very welcome.....I enjoy helping when i can........ Back in the day when I was shooting as many as 3 weddings on any given Saturday and doing portraits and weddings on Friday and Sunday (for those that do not follow the Sunday as sabbath tradition).....I found I had no time to fire up my Omega 4x5 enlarger and do… -
Re: Best Nikon-compatible wide angle lens?
I will re-cast my vote for the Tokina 11-16! If you shoot in low light and need a lens that is razor sharp wide open, the Tokina is really the only way to go. If you shoot landscapes and other things and usually find yourself at f/8 or f/11, the Nikon 12-24 is one of the best choices, the Tokina 12-24 is also great, and… -
Re: Weekly Discussion Thread: Album Layouts / Designs
Hm, I definitely include family photos (I'm suffering trough them for a reason, haha!) In a 30-34 pages album I'd say I have in average .... - 6 pages with photos of the bride getting ready (+ details & shots with fam & girls) - 2 pages (haha) of the groom getting ready (with some shots of all the guys) - 4 pages with… -

Re: Mac Book vs Mac Book PRO
I've got the 1st Gen MB and love it. The Lightroom Beta works pretty well on it - I can ingest a 500 - 1000 shot day in about 3 minutes with a filter applied + custom metadata. Photoshop CS2 works as fast on my AMD64 Desktop box. The Integrated Video card works just fine. Apature is a Beast however and can bring the box to… -
Re: Accessories advice
Italy travel I have travelled extensively in Italy, primarily using the excellent Italian rail system, city buses, subway (Rome), and the vaoporetti (little ferry boats) in Venice. I used my Optech strap on my D200. I covered the identifying name and number (Nikon, D200) with black electrical tape so as not to make it look…
