Re: Putting together a photo show?
I've never 'put on a (print) show' - but I have given a couple of talks to local photo clubs - so there'll be others far more experienced in this endeavour, I'm sure. Things that come to (my) mind - re nature / wildlife pics if considering this. Have the pics you're considering using been seen / commented on by other… -
Re: Nikon D3
I wish I had a house to refinance, but unfortunately I am a lowly poor starving university student. Plus, I don't think my girlfriend would let me refinance anything seeing as I'm $30 000 in debt because of school. Also, for the same fact that you've had to make the business investment in the D3 because the D50 wasn't up… -
Re: Before Sunrise: 10/27/2005 shem creek by ginger
Everyone thanks, thanks so very much. Have had in mind constantly that I need to answer all these wonderful responses. Time got away...................but my thoughts were there. Whoever wants, anytime, may lift my stuff and use it. This particular photo is for sale on my site, I don't always get things put out. So ask if… -
Re: need advice on purchase of first DSLR
Thanks for the kind words as always Art To answer your question based on my personal preferences and experience: I am an avid Olympus user. One of the reasons I was drawn to Olympus cameras is their great size, and their amazing features for prices far better than the competition. They are light, slightly smaller than… -
Re: Wedding must haves?
Aside from what is listed in your profile (20D, 50D, 70-200 2.8) what do you already have......the 70-200 can be used for over 90% of you wedding.....I shot for years with only a 70-210f2.8.....so I know it can be done......but I would have a 24-70 or 17-70 that can close focus (usually noted as macro even though they are… -
Re: Nikon D50
Having the same sensor as the D70, the D50's "less noise" is almost non-existent; it is simply more apparent because of the very different in-camera processing that the D50 applies to images, since Nikon is assuming D50 users are going to want to do less computer processing and more direct-printing. It does however have a… -
Re: New Kid Shoot--CC appreciated (any keepers?)
I really like #1 and #4... those are just too cute. If I can nitpick a little bit on subject... I'm sure that this is stuff that 90% of your audience totally won't notice or care about so you can feel free to ignore if you like (and maybe you're already aware of all this, in which case you can just skip this post… -
Re: Flying Hooves - C&C
Take Divavum's suggestions not just because she is a great photog:smooch , but because she is a rider who knows what she will buy. Comments about the high contrast subject go to why I shoot manual instead of on A-priority with spot meteting and exposure compensation. The problem with that is, especially if the horse is… -
Re: Couple want CD of their Wedding for Free!
there is a time and place to give up a few...not all but a few...pics for free....I still do.....but with this person....there is no way I would give him or his bride one more single image for free........or I would resize the images to a mere 4x6 at 72 or 90 dpi and put a watermark right through the middle of the image… -
Re: Online Event Non sales Mystery.
Hi Snow, Sounds like a good way to promote the pre bookings. Unfortunately with all the events I do people roll in the day of the comp and there are only a few stalls at most events with most horses simply being tied to the floats in the car park. The entries are all done through the club secratary or online these days so…
