Re: First go at Engagement & Wedding Photos
I am not a pro that shoots wedding every weekend and this is my own personal opinion. First off, the song that pops into my mind when I see the wedding pictures that you posted is Can you feel the love tonight? Because I sure can, and I think it is wonderful to be able to capture it. And not only between the bride and the… -
Re: Missing Photographer's Remains Found
Wow, very scary article... which is odd for me to say. You see, I'm a big guy... I'm not someone to be intimidated or scared by most situations... in the crowds at the mall, soccer moms shuffle their little ones to the other side of them while watching me out of the corner of their eyes, even if I'm *not* putting on a… -
Re: Gymnastics: I'm A Sports Photographer Now?
Mike, Welcome to the wild world of sports shooting, theres a lot of good photographers on here that will offer up plenty of great advice and positive critique... A couple suggestions,,, I would not try shooting ISO 3200, the snapshots you posted are really grainy, noisy and all but two are out of focus. Gymnastics,… -
Re: Pros and cons of photography as a career (your experiences)
Well, to me I've been a photographer for the last 2 years and in the last year i got into business (making money out of it). I know it's a short period, but don't be fooled by the number of years. What made me really good in photography is my passion for reading. I read a lot a lot a LOT! and then try to apply them in my… -

Re: Adobe Lightroom 1.1 Update available.
tip on installation Finished my installation of Lightroom 1.1 a few minutes ago and have a tip to offer - or at least can share my experience, in case it might prove useful to someone else. Although the application itself is in the Applications folder on my C drive, I store my Lightroom library and all my photo files on an… -
Re: Uber Stoked~
Aww, you are sweet Tom As much as I love to sing and am driven dramatically by the musical element of what I do, I'm finding myself increasingly fascinated by straight-acting performances these days, and a lot of it is BECAUSE of all this fabulous TV. Don't know your tastes, but you should certainly check out some of the… -
Re: Wide Angle lens help
Hi Mr Fizzed! My best recommendation would be to get a crop-sensor lens that will hold it's resale value. Unless full-frame is in your future less than 6-12 months from now, you've got plenty of shooting to do in the meantime and you should have the right lenses! A few lenses that I know of which will hold their resale… -
Re: Replace Feature Replaces Image But Not Metadata, For Some Bizarre Reason
It's just data. Keep track of where it came from. Let manual edits always supersede image metadata. I just want to add the Lightroom Plugin to this discussion, as it introduces a different dimension, I think (unless it has changed). In Lightroom if I change a caption or keyword (but not the image itself), the plugin will…
