Edited my original post in this thread to put in another entry... Not that I've got a shot in hell of winning, but at least I'm trying. :D

    Three entries
Well, finally chose 3-- see if I can get 'em in here before midnight! I've never posted any before. The first was shot in Thailand. The other 2 were taken in my hometown. First was a Minolta X-700 with Kodachrome 64. Don't remember which lens. Second and Third were shot with an Olympus E-500, 45-70 zoom.

Aww shucks, I got all hung up. There was something about scripted windows... didn't see instructions for that anywhere. Then I couldn't get the large ones all into one post. I feel like a nit-wit. I also un-did watermarking for the contest, but it's still showing up for some reason. Aaaaargh. Well, anyway, it was fun trying.... hopefully I'll get the hang of this someday. For future reference, could someone inform me of how you know the size of the embedded photo if using the "share photo" button? I knew the size of each original, but didn't know how to make it the suggested 800 pixels per side or less. Thanks everyone, and I'm quite open to critiques. I just couldn't add the * after my photos as suggested. Wow, there are a lot of fantastic images on this thread-- I feel entirely humbled. What a community this is! Thanks everyone! --Anna Lisa Yoder

So I was like, I've been on Dgrin for a bit, maybe I'll try my hand at one of the challenges... What a week to pick... Incredible, I've looked at every entry and each shot is incredible. My best shot ever, will not even get memorable mention.

One quick question. Do these images have to be taken durring the challenge time? Or can I post some sorry image I have in my archive?

For the mini challenges, they don't need to be taken during the challenge period. Maybe you can put them in for the next mini challenge... deadline for this one was midnight last night... :)

These are late. All the pictures before mine are excellent. Even if I posted this on time, I didn't expect to win. But, I do feel the need to post pictures even though I'm already disqualified to get the hebbie jebbies out of posting.

Here are my two offerings. Hope you guys like them. I feel they fit the theme nicely.

For the mini-challenges, there is no photo time frame. You can post any photo from your site regardless of when it was taken.

Nice pics, BTW. thumb.gif Too bad you weren't able to get them posted in time. But not to worry, we'll have another mini challenge happening within the next few days.

No reason to think those are not worthy. I think they are great images. Job well done. Please post on the next challenge. I even checked out your work. In my opinion and I am sure many others. There is no reason to doubt your work. some amazing stuff there.

Thanks Linda! I'll be sure to take my hand at doing some interpretation! Congrats to the winners. Everyone here is a winner in my book. Anyone one of these pictures can be put on display. Great job everyone! This must have been a nightmare to judge.

Thanks James. I try hard to capture what I see. We all know how difficult that is. I'm in for the next one for sure!
