Professional Lab Integration

We've heard talk of adding another Pro Lab to smugmug for quite along time now... such as Mpix, Millers and others... (I know I saw a particular post about one lab that perked my interest but shucks... I can't find the post for nothing now) Is My Canvas that Lab or can we still expect to see a full-flegged professional lab added in addition to EZprints sometime in the near future? I still want many things not currently offered such as rounded die cut wallets, etc.....

It would be awesome if they would use Millers. I currently use them and love their boutique packaging.

I really doubt that they would pair up with millers. Millers offers better prices and prints on some things then EZP. So if they were to do that then it would really kill EZP sales. I mean think about it Wallets for a similar price after you add a package together that you do not have to spend time to cut each one out for your clients. As well as there Ambassador service is so much better and consistent then EZP software based auto. After waiting over a year for Smugmug to get Pro services it has just been easier to find a pro lab and integrate that into my work flow. Sorry a day late and thousands of dollars to short. Now all we need is for Andy or some one to say it is in the works. (It's been in the works and soon for over a year.) Why wait for talk, talk is cheap.
I know my spelling and grammar are poor some times my spell check says "I got nothing
for you" and there/ their is no grammar check yet so please forgive me Jesus did.

. Now all we need is for Andy or some one to say it is in the works. (It's been in the works and soon for over a year.) Why wait for talk, talk is cheap.
It's in the works.

It's just not something we can 'flip the switch' on. We've been around now 6+ years. And we've been growing and profitable, without investors, financiers & venture capital. We're bootstrapped, profitable, and proud of our service record to our hundreds of thousands of customers, family shooters, passionate amateurs, and professionals alike. We're well aware that some folks like you will put their pro business elsewhere in the time that we do not have the pro lab that is being asked for. It's how free markets work.

But we won' t be rushed into something :D

Cindy's right, we have been posting about a pro lab. We're actually in the late stages of testing right now with them, actually passing orders to them in test mode. When will we release it to you? When it's ready. Will our pros love it? Yes they will!

I hope this helps you understand things a bit more :D

All the best,

Cindy, they're coming! I was thinking of naming them, "the Cindy Special!"

MyCanvas, Imagekind et al are *not* our pro lab offerings :D They are cool new partners from which you can order books, collages, framed prints, and more. And yes, we hope one day to have these items pro-priceable and orderable by your customers directly from you thumb.gif

Andy,

Most of us truly appreciate the amount of work that is involved for SmugMug to get things right before implementing new programs. Yes, we do get impatient at times but it has always been worth the wait:D

Thank you and I look forward to SmugMug's new offerings!

Thanks for confirming things Andy. I didn't think MyCanvas was 'the' lab I'd heard talk about... but one never knows so asking can't hurt & I'm glad I did thumb.gif Don't miss-understand, I loving seeing Mycanvas and such added... but I believe and was in hopes you'll got even better up your sleeve including my wallets... Knowing smugmug whomever you choose to integrate it's gonna be awesome & I for one am greatly looking forward to it.
That said... just so everyone knows... I was not, repeat was not complaing... merely asking, in hopes to confirm my hope. Millers or Mpix would be wonderful... but I think whomever it will be... smugmug will choosing even better yet. :ivar clap.gif :ivar

As hard as waiting is... I'd rather wait and have it right!!! Thank you smugmug!!!

Yay!!! I will tell you I switched all my business from WHCC to Millers because of their boutique packaging. Millers is also more expensive. But, this year I have decided to do everything to save time and this saves me an enormous amount of time.

Thanks! I can't wait until you provide it.

FYI... I just got this email from Miller's. Sounds yummy, but I'll continue to wait here. I have faith... but how much longer??? The grass is looking greener. <img src="https://us.v-cdn.net/6029383/emoji/ne_nau.gif" border="0" alt="" >

It looks like from the screen shot that you get to pick which place you want to process your prints by the two blue buttons shown. Also part of the text is visible which at least provides a pattern as to which labs there could be. The tops of the text makes me believe millers is not one of them. pro.whcc (if spelled that way) could be the second button. What do you all think?

Although the widths of everything from image1 and image2 are identical. The two buttons aren't in the same place in each image. I'm not sure why they would move.

Assuming neither were altered. It appears button two is ezprints. This might make sense. During testing they would have the new one selected. Also since this is the new shiny lab, they would want to put that button first.

I KNOW BUTTON ONE!!!! Should I tell?

Here's a question for the SM guys.... And this will be asked anyways once the printer is revealed...

Will we have the ability to sell all the products offered. Some of those things have been requested for a looong time by smuggers.

I expect you could draw a fair corollary between the subset of the EZPrints catalog we currently sell, and the portion of the new vendor's catalog we'll eventually sell. Though focus at first is integration and a smaller subset of those items makes that easier. The offerings can grow easier once the kinks are worked out.
